  1. My cauliflower are ready mate, I've got the veg salting away as I type. I've got cauliflower, courgette, cucumber, onion, shallots and french beans in there. I was thinking of trying a couple of experimental jars too with beetroot or other seasonings?
  2. How did your picallili turn out Terry? I've just been searching through for this as I remembered seeing a recipe on here.
  3. A cousin of mine was a tough bloke but he wasn't bullet proof either unfortunately.
  4. Orthotic insoles will probably be better than a boot.
  5. Gone haven't they. Few pockets are starting to recover a bit so hopefully they spread.
  6. A lad I knew lost a toe wearing trainers in the workplace, queuing to get back in the factory after break and someone knocked the fire extinguisher off its bracket only a ft or so off the floor and it chopped his toe off ?

    Flat roofs

Why don't they put a decent fall on flat roofs so that water can't collect like that?
  8. They reckon weekends the worst time for a water change as that's when the tap water has its highest concentration of chlorine.
  9. Good luck with them lads they need all the help they can get.
  10. First goldie mules are out. Been a bad year for empty eggs.
  11. I think it's 6 weeks isn't it?
  12. Isabel mate, they both jumped first and one has died and I caught a quail after the other so I took the quail out and then I caught the dad attacking it so it's getting hand reared the last bit. He's fine with the darker chicks so the next round are getting swapped with a canary.
  13. Are you going to colour them?
  14. One of my linnet mules and some redpolls
  15. Nice one mate. If I were you I'd get a couple of double breeders and some proper nest pans for them though and watch the hen now as she'll be wanting to nest again and might pluck the first chicks for nesting material. Good luck with the rest of your season.
  16. Would the signal from either system interfere with the other if you used both on the same strap? I'm sure I read on here about someone using a bellman and a mk1 to pinpoint the dog.
  17. Got a few linnet mules on the sticks now and a dozen canaries. 2 Goldie mules and 5 redpolls in the nest and a few redpoll eggs. Big bowl full of clear eggs too.
  18. Maybe it's the dog aggression that makes them like that, the point I was making was our labs in general are bred to be placid sociable obedient dogs. Dog aggressive labs wouldn't be popular on a shoot day in a trailer with a dozen others or sat round a flight pond in the dark would they.
  19. I don't think the labs you have over there will be the same type of lab as the working ones we have over here.
