    Just wondering if anyone recognises this object. I found it next to a hedge in a field by a busy road . It could just have blown off the back of a lorry , but the suspicious side of me thinks if could have been left by poachers who use this for deer carcass removal . Anyway I’m keeping it to put shot foxes in now , to stop the claret sloshing around the back of the mule .

    I used to have a young keeper come out with me and he had a fox pro spitfire I think . It was a brilliant bit of kit , and we had a lot of foxes with it , but he would often forget to put good batteries in it or forget it altogether. So I thought I’d get my own . When I saw the price I thought twice . So I got the icotec 350 . Now I can’t say if the fox pro is better , what I would say is the digital , lit up display on the handset is better , but then the more expensive icotecs have that feature now . I use the icotec 350 to good effect and the proof as they say is in the pudding. I shoot fox

    That’s a good night by any standards. I always say if you only see one fox and you shoot it , it’s a good night. But seeing them and missing or them not giving you a shot is not so good.

    One of them nights I guess . I’ve got a couple of places now where I’ve had plod problems. I have the phone numbers now of the local houses and drop a text telling them I’m out and I haven’t had any more bother . I also ring in one place to the police just in case .

    I use the icotec 350 and it 100% works. And being remote controlled, you can turn the volume up or down or off or change the call while you are waiting well away. They can’t wind you or sneak up on you as can be the problem mouth calling . Put it this way , I don’t go foxing without it . The way I operate is to drive around scanning, if nothing is about I let the caller work it’s magic , sometimes you have to give it a while, sometimes results are instant. And sometimes you have to admit defeat .

    Great result and an enjoyable read , A+ .Ps I hate horses too , they eat money and shit work. My Mrs and daughters used to be mad on them . I can honestly say , while we had horses I never had any money . Horse lorry bills , Farrier bills , feed , vet , pony club , the list goes on . I don’t miss it one bit .

    We should be self sufficient in Timber . There can’t be that much oak used for period restorations and quality new builds . The soft wood that is harvested on the estate I work on , some goes to construction or pallets, the rest biomass. We are literally burning good timber . I think the reason for the French oak is it’s better quality .

    The one oak is on its way out the other still has a few years left, here is a better picture of it from further back . You are right , if only they could talk . A guy in the village had a nice porch built with oak . I asked him where he got the oak from . It turns out it’s French oak !!! In fact most of the oak we now use in building is from France (spit) . ??? What the f@ck is happening to the country, when we can’t even source decent English oak anymore?
