I am with you on the Harris copies, I thought I’d penny pinch and get one , it turned out to be a waste of money as I couldn’t cant the rifle , it was fixed . I can’t comment personally on the Spartan , but a mate had one on his Blaser and didn’t rate it , so much so that he was at the midland game fair and went up to the guy selling them in front of everyone and said “ those bipods are crap “ the salesman asked him to elaborate, and then wished he hadn’t as he went through a list of his dislikes . I hope you find yours more to your liking. ?

Just watched Hannah ( the series 1 and 2 ) on Prime , and enjoyed it . Really good . I’ve got that empty feeling now .

To me it’s like reinventing the wheel. Harris bipods are well made and do the we job well . Atlas , Spartan are over priced and although lighter than the Harris , I can’t see that they are worth double .

It could be a bit of luck , but it’s more than likely years of experience a really good eye and patience , and the ability to predict what deer will do . Have you heard the expression “ a hunters eye “ ? It’s the ability to spot animals in cover or even in plain sight . I’ve been out with new stalkers and I spot deer way before them and even have to literally point them out . “ How did you see that “? It’s not magic , just lots of hours looking for foxes and deer . And it’s having those hours and that practice that gives you the advantage of spotting that deer early , stopping

It’s nice to go there on holiday . It’s the only place I’ve visited that I didn’t want to race back home from . We visited the keys , but instead of paying stupid money to stay there we stayed in Homestead and drove there every day . My wife said “ is it safe here “? “Sure it is “ I said , I then went and googled the violent crime stats for the area and it was in the top 10 most dangerous places ....... as Kenny Rogers said , “you could of heard a pin drop as I turned and closed the door “.

Look at the price of that ammo . That is the price I was paying here 20 years ago . I remember buying 1000 clay cartridges for around £80 Sterling when I was clay shooting regularly. You need deep pockets now to go clay shooting. I was talking to someone the other day about where I the world you would like to live . I said without hesitation Florida , great weather ( apart from the bad weather) great fishing and guns , lots of guns , and cheap ammunition.?

Here is a thought . In Sweden they have a huge problem with immigrant men attacking women, it’s the same here . Nobody is addressing the fact that a lot of these sexual assaults on women are carried out by these immigrants who see our white women as “ fair game “. I know that white British men also commit these crimes , but it would be interesting to see a figure of what percentage is committed by non white British ? I bet we will never be allowed to see the figures.

I was listening to he radio yesterday and Cressida Dick was telling women not to worry in the south London area the girl went missing as there was going to be an increased police presence. That’s going to be comforting.

Thanks for the write up Stav . Good afternoon by the sound of it . I must get my arse motivated. The chicken farm are still keeping their birds in and I’ve not had a call from the lambing yet . There will be cubs about now , they will be being born as I write this . So unless it’s essential , I will give the foxes a miss . I can’t get into deer shooting either the bucks have cast and are in velvet and the does are pregnant with the foetus too far developed. So it only leaves barren does or youngsters. The rifles are gathering dust at the moment .

I know what you mean, I was at my reloading bench the other day and my wife came over and screamed . I wondered what was going on and she brought a mirror over and I looked in it ....... I had a flattened down centre parting , black tape on my glasses and the top button on my shirt done up . I need help !!

I have found Norma and Sako good in my Tikka .223 . I can’t say what 204 ruger ammo is like but Norma is quality .
