I just noticed BenBhoy has a new avatar . It looks like a lovely lady shooting prone at a van with something like a 50cal . The recoil makes her buttocks wobble in a very favourable way . I pressed on it and it took me to his member page , I then pressed it again and the image became bigger and clearer . I then watched it a couple more times ..... or so . Cough ... cough , anyone been shooting lately?

Best sound moderator for.243

I have had PES sound mods before and currently have a wildcat on my .223 and an A-Tec on my .243 . The Wildcat I would say is probably the best of all , but the A-tec is very light and reasonably priced . You asked which was the best , I can only say from my own experience , go with a wildcat , also they are a British company. -
There is more innuendo on here than an Italian suppository factory ?

Anybody "come across "this before

This looks painful ? -
I used to have a couple of lads come “lamping “ foxes on the shoot . They all talked a really good shot , and sometimes they did manage to pull off some impressive shots at long ranges too . But they always let themselves down by missing easy foxes , and missing regularly. It was always a joke to them and they would take the piss and have a laugh ....... but I wasn’t laughing!!! I take the job seriously . I stopped taking people out and if there are any foxes missed it’s me who misses them , and I just get annoyed with myself.

Good choice of rifle and calibre. I don’t think you will regret your purchase. I’m looking forward to hearing how you get on with it .?

Can someone drive past sausage dogs house , I’ve a feeling the milk bottles might be building up . ?

I know two paddy’s who were supposed to be laying a screed . They got it delivered, and because it was near lunchtime and they wanted a couple of pints , they took a handful of the screed ( it had a retarder in it which gave you about 3 hours working time ) they put the handful of screed on the bar and kept feeling it . After about two hours drinking they thought it was starting to harden , so headed back . They nearly killed them selves laying it . Apparently they had an AGA delivered on wheels and it rolled across the room ???

I’ve just got off the phone to the shoot owner and we are all systems go for the coming season . He said he has had more enquiries pre season about guns wanting to join than ever before . Must be they have heard how good the shooting is and how good a keeper I am , or more likely there isn’t a lot of shoots going ahead this season ?.

Very generous offer Ben , if I was nearer I would be rifling you box . ??

I can’t think of anything as uninteresting as my plastering life . I do however have a vast reservoir of funny anecdotes and stories from my days on sites . There used to be some real characters about when I was young . The drinking culture was different too . All the gangs I worked with went to the pub before they went home and Friday afternoon was always a boozy affair. There were some rough paddy’s about . ??

As far as I know . I’ve just got to wait until the AGM . I think it will . ?

Although my keepering duties have finished for the season , ( I stopped being paid at the end of January and start back in May ) , the shoot owner still thinks I’m at his beck and call . He has a pond in his garden with some little white call ducks on , they are noisy sods , but they bring in all sorts , Mandarins , Carolina wood ducks , Teal and Mallard. I got a text from him asking if I had a fox trap he could borrow, because a pair of foxes were seen running around the pond trying to get the ducks . Now that’s his way of saying do something about them please . I text back that a

For someone who doesn’t have any pigeon shooting permission it’s better than nothing. Most shoots near me allow interested beaters roost shooting at this time of year and then a bit on spring drilling’s and maize drilling’s in May / June . And then , as long as it isn’t too close to the birds , post harvest and even some shooting on flattened wheat or barley. It is a way of thanking them for their help and also vital pest control. It is the Game keepers who says who can go ( or should be ) not someone who sees it as “their patch” . Also it is a way of getting yourself recommended and recognise

A bit like Noel Coward ?

Nah , that’s an urban fox . I reckon it’s been going through Stavs charity bags that he left out one night . Some of his old rave gear perhaps ?

I use the 50grn Vmax in my .223 . My Tikka seems to shoot them ok . I have thought about trying different weights and brands just to see if there is anything better . But these bullets kill very well , dropping them on the spot , they very rarely put big holes in them , very often you have to really look for the entry hole . I’ve just bought another 100 off spud1967 , so I will be on them for another season. I have shot a fox at 285meters at night , that’s the longest . I used Mapulator and my LRF and split the difference , no dwarf paces ?. But that was at a tricky one , who wo

Don’t be disheartened, keep going . A good way might be to get involved with beating on a pheasant shoot. It really can open doors .

My guess is because nothing beats getting out and knocking on farmers doors

What’s happening with EDRD ? I stopped my subscription a while back . Dave Harcombe I think was struggling a bit and it went down to only a few copies a year . -
The only magazine I get these days is Sporting rifle . I’ve had a subscription for a few years . ( I was stopped at the midland by a beautiful saleswoman at the midland and I was putty in her hands ) . I’ve just heard that it is to be incorporated into the weekly shooting times . I looked forward to it dropping on the doormat every month. I don’t think I will be getting shooting times though. I stopped getting that when John Humphreys passed away . It was never the same again . It seemed to be very much the same articles each year in rotation. I also like the sporting rifle rev
