  1. There are no dramas in this section FD , we keep it friendly here ...... ? well most of the time .
  2. I think it was a public order offence . It’s against the law to film patients inside a hospital . She filmed people in A&E waiting for treatment and then posted it online . The arrest with handcuffs seemed a bit heavy handed . But she is one of those activist types and a friend of Piers Corbyn . That type aren’t going to go quietly.
  3. How come Lewis Hamilton got a gong and not Nigel ? What a joke this New Years honours list is . I hope it’s a case that he was approached and told them to shove it up their arse .
  4. I’ve been waiting to react to this post until I spoke to my sister in law , who works at Gloucester Royal . Now I’m all for a conspiracy theory but this is just a journalist who was looking for a story and stir the shit . The area she filmed wasn’t near the covid wards which are in the tower block and can’t be accessed by the public, she filmed an area of the hospital which was more or less shut down because of the holidays and staff shortages . The members of staff at GRH feel insulted and angry with this story .
  5. If I was a gun and couldn’t attend because I lived in Tier 4 , but others could shoot , I would wish them a great day and hoped they got some good sport . What a bunch of mean spirited tossers , they are behaving like children. Deal with them another day , forget about them and enjoy whatever shooting you can . ATB ?
  6. Happy new year to all the THL lads ......2021 has got to be better..... surely???? ATB
  7. Should have a bit of work for the dogs with a bit of luck .
  8. I’m going to be out with the terriers a lot now . I thought of my THL name because I would rather take my shovel to lean on than dig with , and bolt a fox . Where I am it’s hard going . I was out on Tuesday and Wednesday and you would have thought with all that snow that Charlie would be in the ground but there were foxes bombing around all over the place . I had my mates beat keeper out at mine on Tuesday and he said it was like the Serangeti ..... foxes running around everywhere.
  9. You are more than likely right. I will just keep plodding on and see what happens.?
  10. Had a chat to the boss this morning. Apparently there will be a review on lockdown or our status in Tier 4 in two weeks . So it’s business as usual for the moment. Only difference is I’m not going spinning in the mornings now . I’m hopper feeding and pulling them into a few concentrated areas . Maybe we will get a couple more days in ?
  11. If you put birds to wood , you have a responsibility to them to keep feeding them . It’s just not fair , your neighbour has I dare say enjoyed some sport from his birds ? It’s not on really . To me it shows that he is not a responsible sportsman.
  12. I haven’t spoken to my boss yet . It’s still sinking in . I have been prepared for it though. We have shot 9 of our 12 days , so not a disaster. The syndicate understood the chance they took . My feeling is I might catch up the hens , cull the cocks and keep a bit of feed going . I will see if I can sell the hens . If not , I might rear a few myself. It’s the commercial shoots who had a full diary for January that are going to suffer . I know micro plasma is starting to rear it’s head with the high stocking density shoots that haven’t thinned out their numbers because o
  13. We Shot today and had a great day . An unbelievable amount of public about though. We had to tell a family with sledges to leave as we were about to start shooting , nowhere near a footpath ???. Found a couple of goats wandering about too . Then a pair of yellow wellies were spotted abandoned in a muddy ditch . It’s like a twilight zone of strange happenings and encounters. In spite of public interference we had an excellent day , we avoided electrocution from the fallen power lines and nobody got stuck in the snowy slush . I’ve been forced to drink a couple of ports too , so
  14. I can’t eat Teal . Not after I saw them dabbling around some sanitary towels at a sewage treatment works . ?
  15. Finished all four series and enjoyed it . Not sure what that says about me ? Bored and stuck at home and trying to not monopolies the TV might be the answer . The stalking scenes were not very accurate in my opinion, they always seem to shoot them when they are skylined with no safe background. It’s probably for cinematic reasons . But it’s a fairly good social history lesson. I think I actually learned a few things , in particular the Suez crisis was interesting . We really are a slippery bunch .
  16. Started watching queen of the south on Netflix the other night. So far so good . Nearly finished the first series.
  17. I had call yesterday, from my mate who came with me ratting at your permission , the keeper with the Teckles . He said he had a mark but it was a tight spot and his dogs were all too big to reach it . We dug a nice little vixen to my Mabel . It was only a meter but it’s bloody hard work in Cotswold stone . I’m a bit pissed off because I should be out checking earths in this weather, but we are shooting tomorrow and I’ve just been out with an engineer from Western power who has assured me the lines are safe and will be repaired after we shoot . And then I’ve got to start jet washing
  18. Feeding this morning was pretty . A thin covering of snow . I was in two minds of what to do , the snow was coming down hard when I started to feed and was covering up the wheat I was laying down , so I head back , then it stopped so I carried on . It is fairly slushy and the wheat is falling into the snow , not sure if it’s a waste or not , but I figured that a least they might get something. On a different note storm Bella knocked the power out in the village . A power line that goes through one of the woods we drive on shoot days came down . I didn’t know about it and when I
  19. I’ll run the idea past my boss , he’s bound to jump at the chance of you lot turning up to shoot his birds . Mossad would turn up with an AK 47 , sausage with his musket , Ian Ms grandson would wipe out the the local wildfowl population . You will have to drag Pretty boy Stavross away from the mirror, which might be difficult. And Benbhoy would probably interfere with our flock of Cotswolds .......sounds great ?
  20. I enjoyed the video Stavross, so much so I watched it on the Telly and I’ve given it a thumbs up and I’ve even subscribed. I liked the way the little lad made light work of all the cover , and picked himself up and carried on after falling . Give it another 5/6 years and he will be running the show ?
  21. I love snipe , really hard to shoot . I think you are right , if you get some hard frost or a big freeze it will concentrate them .
  22. Fair play . I was looking at the ground in the background of the woodcock and snipe picture and it looks like real good rough shooting ground . Do you get many snipe on it ?
  23. A good day out . Might the new year see FH trade his rusty old musket in for a shiny new OU ?
  24. Had a nice little Boxing Day shoot . The boys managed to mug/ shoot 41 pheasant and two pigeon. In the pre shoot talk I expressly said “ no ground game “ , well I think some of the birds today , although on the wing , might fall into the “ ground game “ category. But nobody was injured, and it was a great way to work off some over indulgence. We only walk around the boundary on the one side of the shoot. A neighbouring farm puts a few birds down and it’s like a buffer zone between the two shooting interests . I won’t call it a shoot because it’s not , they used to just feed our bi
