    I was exhausted and in pain after seeing Billy Connelly . I wasn’t even a real sort of fan . I just got given some tickets and took a bird . I hadn’t really given him a second thought before. I’ve watched him on the telly , but even though its still funny , nothing is like being there and seeing him live . In fact I’ve found that with all the comedians I’ve seen , it’s funnier if you are in the audience.

    I agree , it was of its time , and I wouldn’t go to see a “ gag Meister “ again . The best comedian I ever saw was Billy Connely . My rib cage was sore from laughing so much . I didn’t enjoy the singing though . Other comedians that I’ve enjoyed were Al Murry ( pub landlord) and Frankie Boyle , before he became a lefty lovie , or perhaps he always was one but I didn’t know , but his audience abuse is second to none . ???

    I enjoy a driven day . I don’t think I’d pay big money for it but luckily I get a couple of invites to small friends shoots and also beaters / loaders days at the end of the season on a couple of commercial shoots . I was involved in a syndicate shoot ages ago and all the politics and lazy members soured the experience, so I know where a lot of the antipathy towards it comes from . But an invite to shoot birds is always welcome my end ?

    I noticed those drinkers . I got some of Collins nets . And they are very good . I use them in the partridge pen . But until then I’ve got them outside one of the pens . I had to go to a funeral, so I asked someone who shall remain nameless to just check them if he was passing and top them up . I got back later on and they were bone dry. With those drinkers if they are not perfectly level or if they are tilted the wrong way even slightly they will drain via the outlet channel. Just saying it happens with them drinkers, maybe your member made a similar mistake?

    I had a look in the hole and it was just what looked like a badger had dug it a while back , I’m not sure what it was after . But I know why the fox was there . I’d shot a fallow buck the other evening and tipped its guts in the hedge right next to where the fox trotted out from .

    It just goes to show that you should always have a rifle with you . I am never on the shoot without my .243 during the day . For the most part it is just propped on the seat next to me doing nothing. I take it to and fro from my house to the truck to the mule and back several times a day . It’s a pain in the arse really.     I watched a series on the box called something like Police : code 0 . It’s basically about the panic button police have if things go south . At the beginning of every episode they show police officers saying a bit about this code 0 button . There is this fat bespectacled WPC saying “ when you hear that button , you drop whatever you are doing and get there as fast as you can “ , I couldn’t help but think that any officer who is having problems is going to see her turn up and think “ shit , I’m f@cked “.

    As with most RCBS kit , they are good quality and I believe they are very accurate. I have just invested in a Lyman gen 6 . So I did a bit of research. The RCBS powder systems were more expensive. The difference between the normal RCBS and the lite is that you can save load data on the normal one , and it’s also slightly faster , maybe a couple of seconds faster on an individual throw of powder , than the lite counterpart. I am in no way an expert or have tested them myself. This is just from the research I did prior to buying the Lyman . Which incidentally has been performing perfectly for me

    Good groups Si . I’m sure I could cut corners. I don’t tumble anymore I use an ultrasonic cleaner with a bit of white vinegar and washing up liquid, and they come out spotless. But I enjoy messing about with it . It’s just a bit of a hobby , and I prefer that to TV .?

    Ever thought about getting out there at night ? It’s got Barronsdown written all over it . The thing is if they have a sanctuary like that it’s not fair on neighbouring farm land . Most landowners can put up with a bit of browse damage, but when it’s localised like that it’s not acceptable. I know what I’d do .
