  1. love shooting ferals in sheds.. its like shooting fish in a barrel only ever get the odd one or two at my local farm tho, wish there was loads.. id set my tent up hahah
  2. nice going mate. used to go fishong and take my rifle aswell for the odd rat or rabbit or magpie or woody that would show up
  3. .22 is better for hunting IMO and you already got 2 .177's.....
  4. had one in .22 myself a few years back. amazing guns mate. .22 is better for hunting
  5. Kirklees is my 'local' aswell buddy. much better than aaron wheelers in brighouse. in my oppinion. if i had a car id probably drive out to redbeck near wakefield for a look, but i dont so im onn the bus and hudds is pretty convinient lol. stilll very nice shop and top guys who work there
  6. not long ago someone calculated how far my gun would go and it was 420 ish yards if i remember right. still nowhere near 500. heard of snypercat, apparently she did some vids out to either 100 or 200 .i can believe that.. but not 500. lol and the airgun gear show is a load of sh1t , they probably had some one off camera shooting a pcp from 30 yards away from his 'target' and just muted out the noise whilst editing lol
  7. Woodsmanjim. That airgun gear show thing is a load of sh1t!! There must have been some camera trickery involved. that guy cant shoot for toffee...
  8. i think competition shooters prefer single shot so they can think a magazine fed pellet might not be as accurate as a single pelllet, perhaps theres evidence to back this theory up somewhere, i dunno, but in a competition they need to know there gun is firing 100% straight lol. for hunting multishot would deffo be better choice.
  9. Bad mate I'm striping soon to tune it a bit so my son can Learn to shoot with her he wants my hw100 lol sed when u can shoot a springer an get good groups constant ill let u shoot a pcp best thing you could say. let him learn with a 'proper' gun first
  10. look at the 10x fixed zoom mtc viper, heard nothing but good reviews about them. massive turrets put me off tho lol. more of a hft scope than a hunting scope lol . as far as im aware your middle cross is always bang on at any zoom level..?
  11. oh and when i had my hawke panorama 40mm on my hw95k with a 1 piece medium hawke sport mount the obj lens was almost touching the action. so i dont think a 40mm would go in low mounts mate
  12. get a good quality 32mm scope then and put it in low mounts. or buy the new design hw77 stock.. although it does look more like the 97 than the 'old' 'traditional' 77 lol SKoT
  13. to me personally i couldnt give a damn if my gun was twangy as hell. as long as it was a consistent 10.5-11.6 Ftlbs and accurate to 60 / 70 yards then who cares what noise it makes . lol
  14. its best to try get close and spook the rabbit, than to shoot it up the arse at yards because you went for the head and you werent that good at shooting,,,,,
  15. why dont you get something to highten the comb of your stock.. like a piece of foam or wood ducktaped round it lol.
  16. well a .177 is just as accurate as a .22 the pellets just fly flatter so you dont need as much holdover when shooting at longer ranges. its safe to say a well placed shot to the brain will take vermin cleanly at 90+ yards with sub 12 ftlb air rifles. i personally have shot a crow in the head at 66 yards and it was dead before it hit the floor.. 17. nice one mate all i can hear all night is bloody magpies cackling all night in tree next door. cant shoot them either !!
  18. Also try ask ur mate how long hes had it and if he knows how old it is. im not sure if older ones didnt have chequering on the stocks.. or you could probly email bsa with the serial number to get a production date?? SKoT
  19. Thats the lightning xl. im talking about the original lightning before the xl came out i had 2 they wer both fine then i got a lightning xl last year also im left handed so i went for wood stock.that was nothing like the old bsa's i had before . it was inaccurate twangy and only doing 8-10 ftlb got rid and got a hw97kt old bsa's are a LOT better than new ones.
  20. your pallarax should be set for the range you are shooting e.g. 30 yards to give a perfect crystal clear image. if you set it at 30 and loook at 10yds it will be blurry and same for 70 yards... if after taking your shot at 30 you then need to take a shot at 23 yds it might be a bit blurry so you should adjust it to give a clear image again. as for zeroing some people say put it on maximum magnification, and set the pallarax to the range e.g. 27 yards so you get the crystal clear image. hope this helps. 21. £50 is a bargain mate. there good solid little rifles with good power and accuracy if you can shoot it properly and if its an old birmingham made one it wont let you down. still £50 even if you dont get on with it you wont lose any money if you go to sell it. ive had 4 over the years and 2 old lightnings aswell. great little guns.
