Rabbit Numbers Dropping ( Or Not Showing)
Tron replied to David.evans's topic in General Airgun Discussion
My permission was overun by rabbits in June in fact I shot 3 within 5 minutes one evening and ones and twos other times I attended. then in July I turned up and the Mixy had struck everywhere, within a week all gone, the first time for years I saw mixied rabbits that had been run over on the tracks by the tractors. there is still plenty of squizzers about the farm has a Walnut tree and the adjoining farm has one as well I have potted 9 in the last few weeks by sitting and shooting them as they cross the road on the phone wires from farm to farm. -
Anyone Around Telford

Look on you tube, it shows you how to do it yourself. -
It was on you tube " Shooting .22 pellet using nail gun blanks?" by a guy called TAOFLEDERMAUS I then found a follow up tests by another guy doing and showing the above using different power blanks and giving velocity speeds on each type.
-
Just been looking at a guy in the USA performing velocity tests wih a .22 rimfire rifle and a .22 handgun. What got my attention was he using different capacity ,22 nail gun blanks to shoot Crossman Premier 14.3 g .22 pellets. the performance on pumpkins was frankly amazing! whereas a normal .22 bullet just went straight though the hyper speed pellet just exploded on impact tested on a steel plate at about 20 yards the pellet cut through with ease no dent just a clean hole! the high speed .22 round went through with ease but left a big dent around the hole. accuracy at longer ranges was rub

Have you thought about perhaps packing out the recoil pad with a number of steel washers in order to bring the scope position back nearer towards your shooting eye? this would enable the recoil detent hole on the rifle to be used and guarantee that scope creep would be non existant. try it and if it suits you than you could knock up more suitable final spacer.
-
Yes, its quite easy to reset the the Innova rifle to 11+fpe or even a bit more to put it on ticket, this info also applies to the Webley Rebel and some of the Crossman rifles and other copies of the crossman system.unfortunatly this info is not allowed to be passed on by open messages on responsible forums. go and look on you tube you might find the info you want on there.

Hey white, A fac air rifle .22 shooting at 24 foot pounds is shooting at roughly the same velocity as a sub 12 fpe .177.asuming you use a 14.3 g pellet. that gives a good performance for rabbits/wood pigeons etc. another thing is the extra power makes it more likely to kill your quarry more cleanly compared to a sub 12 fpe gun. obviously if you only do head shots then it wont make much difference what gun you are using. remember though once a gun is registered as FAC then it cant be taken back to sub 12 fpe. even though it could be detuned back. If you look around on Guntrader for a good seco

The Ultra SE and the Scorpion rifles are much more complicated to strip/repair/tune compared with the AA 400series rifles. the AA400/410 are much easier to get along with. The BSA's are accurate enough but no better than most.

Not funny the guy talks in text speak going from what his mates on here has said about him he is a honest member. There is allways someone that likes to take the P++ in order to make themselves feel good about their selves. a loss to this forum.

The R10 is much lighter than a TX200 and if you shop around you can get one with superb tigerstripe grain. You cant fill from a normal type compresser because they dont produce a high enough pressure.as you stated you need a divers bottle or a stirup pump to fill it. personally after having a R10 and a Ultra se, I would get a AA 410 or a AA510 because they are much easier to strip/repair/ or do a little fettling yourself. the BSA's are awkward to strip in comparison to the AA PC's.

Do I Px Or Not Hmm
Tron replied to Lancashire Hunter's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
The HW is a well engineered gun but against it is the weight, fully scoped up it is like a lead weight to tote around if it was that good I would of thought the present owner would keep it. Makes you wonder why the present owner wants rid of it?. -
Choosing A Pcp - Now Air Arms S400 Or Bsa Ultra
Tron replied to chrismdd's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Both the BSA and the Air arms are both great air rifles. The BSA is OK but its a Swine to strip/ repair. The AA classic is a full length rifle and is capable of more shots in its Classic length. But the AArms Carbine is much better to strip/repair, You pays your money and get what you pay for. For me the AA 400 outstrips the S/S Ultra. Good luck. -
Nathan, the HW 35 is quite capable of 11fp+ the real limiting factor on that model is the length of the transfer port plus the swept cylinder capacity. Because of those facts fitting a strong spring usually makes for sharp recoil because the piston doesent have that last bit of air cushion to prevent piston crash. I believe you will have to work out if is worth going the spacer route or maybe just get a shorter stiff spring that just preloads the piston by the length of 2 coils or so. Good luck.

Fac Air Arms S510 Xtra Superlite Carbine .22
Tron replied to oman's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
I believe the AA Extra is not available in a Carbine configaration the term EXTRA used to denote the extra long air cylinder and barrel on that model. FAC AA carbines have a shot count of about 30 and about 25FPE the output available. -
Mr Mole has a point I have come across various BSA PC rifles that have had a wayward pellet stuck in the trigger section causing a problem where the guns wont cock.
-
Dont go for the EXTRA POWER AA. thats like toting around a old musket. plus a moderator on it would make it ugly to look at. the other guns mentioned make more sense.
-
If your 410 was purchased new two years ago then it should have anti tamper. on the right side of the action in line with the transfer port you will see a shiny shear off bolt plus removing the stock and looking at the underside you should see alloy blanking discs covering the screws holding the action to the barrel assembly. the discs are easily drilled out but the transfer port shear bolt needs removing by someone with a good workshop.

Well done on your first kill but I am a little amazed you heard a "Great crash!" in the leaves behind you, as down here in Shropshire there isnt any leaves on the trees although there should be in the next 2 or 3 weeks.

Smk B2 Air Rifle Upgrade .177
Tron replied to Liamjenx's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
If you have a interest in air rifles and intend to shoot pests then I would respectfully suggest you save up for a few more weeks and buy a better made air rifle which would last much longer than the one you are asking about. I say this because once you start shooting you will soon find out that you will want the best available for what you want to use it for. For a cheap? accurate, non recoiling rifle have a look at the Webley Rebel which is available for about £100.00. -
CO2 when stored is in a liquid state on release to the atmosphere it turns to gas with a pressure of aprox, 800 to 870 PSI. (Depending on outside temperature.

Can You Fit Your Own Regulator?
Tron replied to Andy_c's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Just shows what happens when a owner is too scared to set up a trigger as he wants it. the AA200 is no problem or too the BSA range, while non could be argued to be as fine to set up as a HW Reckord trigger the fact they are PC'S and not springers means really that most can be set up EXACTLY AS YOU WANT IT. -
Jeez Dangerous dan. how many hundreds of tips are you going to need before you feel happy to shoot your minus 12 fpe rifle in your miniscule garden?? FFS! whats the point of having a b****Y air rifle if you are too scared to shoot the B*****Y thing??...... Why dont you get yourself a plastic ball shooting BB gun and ensure me and the other shooters on here can get a good nights ****** sleep while you torture yourself if you might kill someone about 500 yards away? God allmighty,Please respond in about 25 years after myself and other grownups have passed away?.
