  1. They work OK John, because the AA 400 series has had slight receiver changes over the years you must when ordering make sure you are getting the correct one for your gun. Go to the Rowan website and the measurement shown for each type of is shown so you will be able to order the correct one.
  2. No mate, not many have the special hose adaptor to recharge the system, I had one years ago but thats been gone long ago, If you get one and are using a dive bottle to charge the ram be very carefull as it is easy to blow the seals, If you overcharge it even by a small amount you wont be able to cock it, Best to have a look on utube theres probally someone on there showing how they did it.
  3. Yep me and Mole have/had one, well made with a Walther barrel downside- 8 shot, tuning to 11FPE ? unlikely without special toolroom machinery, transfer port adjustments foiled by access to transfer port adjustment by steel ball bearings pressed into receiver body covering adjustment screws, Good gun for the money.
  4. Hey Rimfire, why dont you try the Wasp in 5.5 ? should be faster than the 5.6 wasps.
  5. Hey Moley, how come your banned on agf?
  6. Hiya fellers, The video of Sam is now hope fully on to view the calibre of the rifle was .375 hence the kick on firing. No still cant download it.
  7. you dont say what year it was made, what calibre, what condition, anything really in order for a general estimation of your query?. give some answers to the above questions and you will get a honest answer, look at your gun, take a few pics of the gun from both sides, is there any rust? is the bluing perfect? are there any scratches, dents, in the wood of the stock? before you can have any honest replies to your inquiry you must state the above facts!. In closing, Wellcome to the forum.
  8. Winchester subsonics are brilliant, I also used to use cb ammo when shooting up trees for pigeon and squirrels as they were much safer with just about 30 fpe. but with the winchester rounds on damp mornings all you could hear was a hiss as they left the moderator and a click of the firing pin.
  9. I am very sorry for laughing at your plight, in fact very very sorry, Erh, or am I sorry really? Erh yep, erh nope, erm, maybe, or perhaps not. But there again perhaps I will have to examin my first reply again, and again, Erm, I dont know now if I am sorry at all,but maybe I am,
  10. Thinking about springers, I have seen somewere a video about a SFS tuned springer that was shown firing I cant remember what gun but the shooter put a pellet on top of the scope turret and fired the rifle, the pellet moved a fraction but did not fall off! that was no small achievment in a springer putting out over 11 FPE. I dare say there are a few other tuners out there who are just as good you just have to read forums like this to find out who they are.
  11. Dirty boys!! Erh mind if I have a look!, erh, allmost said can I come!!! FFS.
  12. Dont get confused there Bernie, look at my reply to your op, in which I did state the diference between a break barrel and a HW97/ or a AA TX. the major diference between them is the underlevers have a extremely short transfer port compared to the majority of break barrel guns, FACT. this is alone that means that such rifles can reach sub 12 FPE levels quite easily without having to resort to mega spring poundage. to get the same kind of smooth shooting in a break barrel gun is not allways easy, some in .177 usually cant find the smoothness that the underlevers do. A PC rifle has a different f
  13. The Innova is/was a dump valve system, uprating the power was easy but it eventually caused failure to fire due to the system used to release the air, anyone who has one that that wont work may be could use parts from the Webley Rebel as it looks like a copy. as Rimfireboy said the Ace is a much better made rifle.
  14. No bernie, I didnt say that,... The upside of a good .177 rifle is the velocity of a sub 12 FPE gun is a pretty flat trajectory which if produced by a .22 gun would be classed as a FAC gun. so basicly a .22 FAC rifle shooting a 14.3 pellet at 800 FPS would have a energy level of =20..3 FPE. a .177 rifle shooting a 8.2 pellet at 800 FPS would have a energy level of =11.6 FPE. SO although the energy FPSecond would be different the trajectory flight of both calibers would be much the same. .... A sub 12 FPE .22 running at sub 12 FPE using a 14.3 g pellet would be around 600 FPS giving a e
  15. The reason Bernie is that a springer is more efficient in .22, in order to get the same power levels in .177 the spring energy has to be increased, which, with normal break barrels with a longer transfer port than the HW 97/99 models and the TX rifle, This causes a harsher firing cycle, this also applies to Pre charged rifles, the downside of which is shown by more air being used in .177 in identical models both with the same power outputs.
  16. Trouble is the tuners? mentioned, cost a arm and a leg when servicing these rifles,
  17. Dr B, THL's most experienced airgunner. 30 years and counting!? ERH sorry sonny Ive been airgunning for over 60 years! and still doing it.
  18. Well I dont think he was expecting it, he has fired rifles, as he is a member of the local TA, but I have a thought that maybe his workmates was doing what all of us have been treated to when starting work, I remember being sent to the factory stores for-- Striped paint, chequered paint, A bucket of sparks, a long stand, and other impossible articals and if you refused we had the chinese wrist burn, or the favorite torment by our olders-- having a piece of coke pulled up the back of your head.
  19. Hiya fellers By now you will have heard about young Sam, the latest is a short video taken of Sam in the firing tunnel house at his work, I dont know the calibre of the gun he was test firing but certainly it was a bigger calibre than what he had been told, Sam although 5 foot ten only weighs about a bag of sugar!! I will now ask one of my visiting daughters to unload it on here if possible, No, she has been trying for the last few minutes to upload it from my email onto here to no avail, I will have to wait untill another of my grandsons to do it on his next visit.
  20. Solway at Tamworth do brass t/guards for various guns. Dear though about £44.00 if I remember right.
  21. Gentlemen, I have just returned from collecting and taking Sam to the train station, to my horror I was informed two days ago that he catches the 7AM! train to B,ham and while I dont mind leaving my house and doing so to help him I realise I will do the obvious thing and get him a bike today I have been informed the local Asda are selling them at a price I can afford and hopefully his other grandparents will buy him a D? lock which I have been told is almost impossible for the casual thief to remove. So my friends can I give you all, our most sincere thanks for your kind comments and offers
  22. I dont think he would be covered Vman, as he is only 17 he left school couldnt get a job loves shooting , he tried to join the army, he is in the local TA, but failed the medical its a shame, would not sign on the dole spoke to westly Richards I took him for the interview and him and me was over the moon that he got the apprenticeship
