    its rewarding digging on your own, but it can be a right pain. Especially carrying all your tools up a steep fell whilst the dogs are pulling all over the place. Things you do eh!

    Landys get bad rep from the people who buy used workhorses and use em as a Chelsea tractors. Old cars need regular serving and regular offroading does wear out parts prematurely, especially when you've got 2 ton rolling about on 15+ year old bushes. Difference with landys is the parts are cheap and they're easy to work on. Oh and why is water in the foot well an issue?

    reminds me of a time I was knelt down listening when I felt something move at my feet, it had dug up vertically and popped its head out to make an escape. Had me puzzled for a moment!

    If you know how your dog works you'll know when you should start or when you should sit back. Be it digger or dog fault, it's not a successful dig if the quarry isn't in front of you.

    I like to give a dog time and not do anything in haste. 100mph on the shovel and you'll blow yourself out and your dog won't have settled. Steady from the off and you'll get to your dog quicker in the long run.

    big engine doesn't mean better towing. It's more about torque and gearing, bigger wheels don't help either.

    some people often dig their dogs three times a day, but they may only be 1m deep. Sometimes you might only have one dig, but it's 12ft. All that matters is that the dog stays.
