  1. Ive used that stock board myself. Its very good, doesnt rot and you can paint it aswell.
  2. Can you put picture up? Does she eat up ok? Do you break feeds up or just one feed? What breed or breeds are in her? Is it warm where she lives/sleeps. Pups burn a lot to keep warm so need High calory foods, also goats milk is very good or multi milk by SCA. baby rusks are good. I dont like the sound of bulking up myself. Puppies should gain weight daily, and have a nice bit of fat under the skin, but they shouldnt look like bloaters.Weigh it yourself, dont rely on vets every few weeks. feed it as much as it will eat at any one sitting, from your hand if necessary and make it good quality mince bee
  3. I thought passports were needed for south. You definitely need one from southern Ireland to England. Some will drive into north first to save passport.
  4. Whatever you do you cannot guarantee finding good homes for puppies. People who get the best out of breeding there own are doing so for entirely selfish reasons..to have made all the decisions regarding the mating, including the choice of stud and then doing the best for the bitch in and after whelping. I always cut litters down anyway which takes a lot less out of the bitch and gives more to whats left. The only reason to put a bitch through rearing a large litter is money or sentimentality, and if you suffer from that you shouldnt breed dogs. The breeder then gets the choice of pups,I always k
  5. You could try putting it in the shooting oppertunities section under pigeon shooting. Might get more views.
  6. My old Spaniel retrieved hundreds of crows. He knew they pecked and grabbed them accordingly. He also jumped barbed wire fences and hunted through the thickest of bramble and blackthorn. He was a well bred dog that knew his job. He still had both eyes at the end of his long and busy career. Mind you he was well bred from dogs that had also been properly tested in the field. Ive seen spaniels refuse to pick a flapping cock pheasant before. Its embarrassing for the handler in comany but dogs need to be bred from the right stuff and exposed to different situations.
  7. You can easily access non ped pedigrees (they should be called non kc) on internet and you will see that they are bred down Greyhounds. They can do some very good times over the sprint distance on Greyhound tracks which usually takes place in early autumn.
  8. you need solid dividers and avoid bars. dogs can get damaged between or get pulled through. Terriers can also walk up mesh and bite through chicken or rabbit wire. dont leave gaps or take chances on quality of materials.
  9. make a very good hide with a roof preferably on edge of wood or thick cover. Do not let them see you. Dont get out of the hide at all. Shoot runners again to kill clean rather than chasing around, unless you have a dog to retrieve. Learn to use a good call.
  10. my mate finally got a non ped whippet last year after us looking everywhere, but was unfortunately crippled for good 3rd time out on lamp.I dont know if it was not fit enough but I do think you have to consider where they are going to be run,as injuries could be a problem for some.
  11. Advert is like that because any one who can't be recommended don't waste my time. And the £350. Is if you can't afford that. Then you obviously can't afford to look after and care for the dog. And I'm definitely not hard up for 350 people want a good dog for free. You can't get a cup of tee free now we're in 2017 not 1960 Im not having a go. Nothing wrong with selling your own stock that you no longer want imo. Its just this thing of recommendation. Im not likely to ask someone to guarantee me unless I knew they would back me up,and what about the one doing the recommending ? Do you have
  12. I think a all in one is a bit top heavy. As regards price I wouldnt expect it to be cheap. Dont be tempted to cut corners for the sake of a few quid. Ive heard lads moaning about the price of a bit of good kit whilst theyre standing there with a fag in one hand and a pint in the other. Real hunting blokes like good quality kit that does a good job and they dont mind paying the price because they are out that often it pays them back in buckets. I wish you good luck mate, and if you produce something worth having and something I dont have to start re soldering as soon as I get it like that Deben
  13. Long beam. at least as long as the blazerlite with 100w bulb. It must have flip up filter which would hopefully be better design than cluson. Either this or a good dimmer. Long beam 1 good flip filter or dimmer 2 rubber type material for body 3
  14. You'll want to rear him up nice and steady mate.
  15. Dont want to mess up anyones advert but I dont like all this demanding references before selling. It just sounds so false and insincere when people who are getting rid of an animal for money want to take the moral high ground whilst pocketing 350 for a dog they dont want.
  16. You are one of a very few people on here Ive heard talk about gameness in its proper sense. Gameness can only be expressed by a dog or any animal when it is loosing its battle on all fronts and there are no obvious ways forward. Like the man who was asked if his dog was game..he replied I dont know hes too good at winning.. This applies to all forms of hunting with dogs. We dont breed them to fight,we breed them to take quarry. To overcome it in weight and/or number. Having said that its obvious that dogs that are crossed with game blood will have more chance of being game and having a higher
  17. Brown fields dont mean pigeons unfortunately. Most drilling now is too good anyway but Ive seen pigeons ignore wheat all over the top of a field and fly over to feed elsewhere. They are fickle things pigeon. take it as it comes with them I say, they are a wild bird after all.
  18. American type puppy collars in bright colours as used by Greyhound trainers cost around £5. Greyhound and Whippet shop or Lawsons sell them.
  19. had a few decent bags on drill this time but everything is up now. dont bother with any flappers or spinners on brown fields though. If they are there they cant miss seeing the decoys.
  20. yeh i was mate, it been a rough 7 months and still is,with my bad back, but you got fight it if you can with few pain killer tabs.It was great to get out, not seen trigger for long while as he said .I Liked his pup all dogs get on great , Buster and old Bryn just do there own thing, Buck was practicing neck holds on young Ben, he puts his jaw across there neck lol fair play to him Ben he kept coming back to the big bugger lol,but got great temp really with people and dogs, he wreak a dog or a person if he really wanted to, glad he soft . We had cracking run on a rabbit , Buck jumped t
