  1. I think they dont get eaten because they give the eater sore guts, thats why you find their body's lying about.
  2. Thats the bloke on Mountain men? Not to be confused with mounting men which is on a different channel.
  3. Ive got this CS Osborne one for belts, its a size 4 ?
  4. Wait until winter and just cut it back hard, top and sides. Whatever the hedge it will obviously look a bit stark at first but will soon leaf up. It happen to all hedges and shrubs, it just creeps up on you. Remember to do it before the end of February. Forgot to say make sure you cut evenly off sides to keep it balanced. Stand well back to see your progress.
  5. Regular trimming does no harm because you are only removing outer very new growth. It encourages thicker and better cover in shrubbery and hedges, but apart from that the gardeners job is to tend the shrubs etc first, but as I say its cutting thats bad for them not trimming.
  6. Thanks mate, no not cheap but best quality. I got mine from Abbey but I'll have a look tomorrow and get back.
  7. Been in this business many years. The majority of men whether big small or young cannot keep garden work up at a pace, 5 days a week for more than a few weeks, most in fact are days or hours. Hedge cutting with a petrol hedge cutter is one of the hardest tasks, and only the strongest can do it days on end at a good pace that will earn money. Unfortunately the electric trimmers dont last long enough before a recharge and the long reach too heavy at the cutting end, so its still petrol for most contractors.
  8. Lavender is great for bees, and also Honeysuckle and roses. Theres a Rambler called Kiftsgate and it will ramble up through trees and make the tree look like its got flowers on. They are good on fruit trees because they flower after the blossom has gone. Mock orange or Philadelphus is good and Buddleia but prune straight after flowering if its needed because next years flowers will grow on this years growth.
  9. I think definitely Whippet strong in the blood, preferably with some terrier blood. The few rabbit specialists Ive seen, like elastic and nailing rabbits quick one after the other have been this blood or bred down Grew and Collie, but whippet in every one.
  10. I must be smoking the wrong stuff.
  11. Made myself a new belt on my old buckle. Greasy Oak stirrup leather.
  12. This is what Ive made, so I'll see how it goes.
  13. Thanks for all these replies, Ive havnt been getting notifications about them for some reason.
  14. The RSPCA are not pursuing hunting with dogs and such anymore and concentrating more on abused pets etc, all thanks to the pressure brought on them by the CSA mainly I think.

  19. Thanks Phil, thats the man, very nice bloke. One day I saw him put the colour up to decide the course but then the run carried on but a bit far away to be judged I suppose but they pulled the Hare down in the next field.
  20. Fantastic pic mate. We were lucky enough to be at a great meet in the Cotswolds when Gary Kelly was judging and the coursing was unbelievable. He actually stopped to chat to us on the way past, after the final and he was just in shock at the quality of the coursing the Whippets produced, and thats coming from a man who has slipped the best Greyhounds in the world for years and years. I really enjoyed those meets and would still be going now if it wasnt for the Ban. I didnt go to the last meet or to the last Waterloo, I found it too sad and hard to swallow. Can you tell me Green Lurchers
