Do you mean the Martingale type? you can get cheap ones off ebay.

As Phil says, once off the lead we are spectators. Dogs with high drive are more at risk than others, but then recklessness is a good trait and proves honesty, and the more honest and driven, the happier the dog is in expressing himself. If he runs into a telegraph pole thats just bad luck all round. To quote Delboy "He who dares wins" As already said by Socks I think, puppies need to have free running from 10 weeks old and learn to use themselves. That makes all the difference.

Thats a very sound offer that. I dont blame for being cautious though, good luck.

Thanks for all the advice and this was the first result. I had a Roe knock most of the maize out, but didnt stop it being a success so thanks.

Why do you think the for sale section on here is almost blank? Could it be every one of the dog lads has stopped breeding because they just refuse to get a much better price for there puppies and miss the old days when they were worth next to f**k all? Shit has always been bred and peddled but now it just cost more. You should focus on getting good breeding with good proven stuff behind it, then pay what ever you have to to get it. Ive given away lots of pups only to find theyve been passed on less than a year later and probably for ££££ I dont do that anymore.

I think a lot of us thought that we would march on London and have a big push and that would be that, but it was and will be an ongoing fight. My son was out in the middle east at the time, you dont have to convince me, its strong stuff and it goes on. When Blair got in that night I thought that that was it for hunting with dogs, but 20 years later and we are still doing it despite all the ammo we daily feed the enemy with on facebook with photos, accounts and even videos!! As for the lads who turned away from dogs because "it wasnt worth the bother" I cannot believe they had any kind of passi

Ah good night out by the sounds of it mate? I watched all the heats on telly and some good racing and really good dogs. My missus had the 6 dog aswell, so covered my losses?

Have you ever noticed the winners in life are not the cynics. Its seems to me the only thing the cynics win is more negativity to feed their hungry bellies.

Some dog that Lucky. I had a video of his years ago. Poor quality film but Christ could that dog run, and go up and down the gears and use his brains on that big land aswell. I had a Deerhound/Greyhound at the time and run daytime Hares most weeks. That video told me where I was at?

So did you watch it? or back it? was the question.
-
No thats it? I was just really struck how long ago all that was. It brought back a lot of memories.

Sorry I meant Hyde park? So start again.. WERE YOU THERE (HYDE PARK) ??? Countryside march was I think 19 years ago.

If everybody inbred from quality dogs then there would be a lot better dogs about that could also produce due to being purer for the right traits. All pure breeds have been in and in bred in their history, otherwise they wouldnt breed true to type. The only dogs you truly know are the ones youve bred yourself, and when you have like yourself a family of dogs or a true stud, you are the envy of a lot of men. There are always dreamers who believe they are getting dogs off someone else's 30, 40 or 50 year old blood line, but theyre just self kidders. Good luck with the pup.

My first lurcher was a wild one and showed feral traits for stealing food of any kind and later attacking sheep and almost any livestock but only if you wernt looking or near to him. The only things he couldnt catch were rabbits? but if I were living wild I think Id go for mutton, its easier to catch and a lot more meat. He would always escape if he could and go off for days at a time. Never came back thin but he always did come back until one time he didnt, and that was that, and uphill ever since.

Nice big strong pup. Are his feet ok?
-
You are showing your vast ignorance again!

Two different dogs for different jobs. A lot of Bullx dogs have very bad flat feet, mostly but not all from Bull genes. Thats down to poor breeding. That is a factor that takes long distance running out of a dog. Most Saluki crosses have excellent feet of the catlike from the Greyhound or the Hare type foot. Thats one thing, but also a Saluki is bred for the long run and nobody would dispute that. A Bull x lurcher (one that has a lot of bull influence) of good breeding has very good stamina if conditioned and fed right, but does give away energy a lot quicker until it comes to grips with its q
