  1. North Bucks, between Northampton, Bedford and Milton Keynes. Paulus had very kindly offered to take us out on the lamp in august, to find some easy bunnies to give her confidence on.
  2. Still umming and arring over magnification! 10 x42, or go the full 6-24x 50 for rangefinding ability? On my current scope the objective lens adjustment only goes to 150 yards, after that you just get the infinity symbol. It would be handy if it went to 200 yards really.
  3. It had crossed my mind lol! Thanks for the advice, I'll ask around
  4. Didn't I say the same old arguments would be re-spouted ?
  5. I'll avoid letting her chase til end of summer, when she'll be after easy ones on the lamp (sitters), courtesy of Paul (thanks mate )
  6. one field with a bridle way thru it is heaving with em! It's used by walkers, but not mega heavy foot traffic.
  7. as a 20 week old pup i would think running towards another dog and turning a deaf ear is natural dealing with it is what matters, however i wouldnt let the pup get to the stage where it thinks it carnt get near them. rabbits that is So try and avoid rabbit contact til she's older? Not worried about Fenton moments with her - normal for most pups I think, it'll be trained out of her with time (I hope! has with every other dog I've ever had) Pretty dog isn't she? Her nickname by the wife and kids is 'Womble'! do any of your other dogs catch them daytime? Nope, flip useless potlicke
  8. Roxy's been retrieving well, pretty much since her jabs - first tennis balls, then rabbit skin covered tennis balls and the odd recently shot pigeons too. She retrieves from cover pretty well and always to hand - well pleased with her for that Can't be bad practise to teach her retrieving game can it?

  10. Do you guys think I should avoid her seeing rabbits when I take her out walking/training? I don't want to mess her up! 123456 - she's always been a very 'nosey' dog if you know what I mean. Hope she does well.
  11. Hi folks, just looking to pick brains. A couple of times when walking the youngster, she's disturbed a group of rabbits and as she's a pup, she's been bewildered by the number of them and herded them back to their burrows. She obviously wants to chase and catch, but doesn't know how to yet. Now, my gut says to avoid direct contact with bunnies like the plague with her til shes older (she's only 20 weeks) because i don't want her to miss rabbits repeatedly and give up trying to catch them. Am I right? Also, in another spot tonight, I spotted a youngish bunny at 30 yards away head off,
  12. It is I'm afraid. Lost a friend myself a few years back, but lost one in a car accident too. It's not that we don't care. Hope tomorrow goes as well as it can. Duncan
  13. Bought a tin of falcon accuracy plus in .177 to try in my hw100s. They are very good but slightly bettered by my normal choice of aa field 4.52. So if anyone wants to swap, that would be great. Used about 50 shots at most. Cheers Duncan.
  14. The heart and drive of the pit id something I'd want to use for hogs. Funny how the pastime of something I am dead against (dog fighting) could give rise to something I approve of (hog hunting). Similarly, war ( an ugly notion) gave rise to things like the Spitfire, a thing of beauty.
  15. Headshot, 50 yards and subs are just fine. For more info and lots of arguing about the pros and cons of shooting fox with a rimmie, do a search on threads - saves a lot of repetition!
  16. Man has selectively bred animals etc for his own benefit since time immemorial Gnasher. Without this, Pitbulls, Greyhounds, Rhodesian Ridgebacks etc etc etc simply wouldn't exist. Puritanism has its place, but sometimes is good to take the wider view. How else did we get the Lurcher? atb Duncan
  17. Sorry darkie, who was this bloke you knew? See him often - like in the mirror?
  18. and i think another point to make is if you zero using your bibod then its less likley to be as accurate free shooting than if you did your zeroing without the bipod and it could be said visa versa kanny Totally agree, head/scope alignment is different prone compared to free-hand
  19. choking a darkie after a long wait
  20. recommendations for use with a hmr? Never had or used one before, just used good scopes to rangefind for ft, but thats about it. Laser any good? Advice needed please chaps!
  21. Thanks guys, I'll look em up. £200 seems to be about the budget, will need some decent mounts too - medium I think. Cheers D.
  22. Big ass titties oh and buying a lurcher puppy
  23. Made me laugh because, people might cringe at you for going on a hols with a fat bird, rather than you pissing in her suitcase! But hey - it was all inclusive
  24. I thought they'd sold that old cabinet years ago thru lack of use.
