  1. Could it be that somehow the ballistic tipis getting damaged as it enters the breach?
  2. Thanks SS, I'll get to a shop and have a play. They are about £100 cheaper than the HW too. Cheers D.
  3. the fact were both on here answers your own question Fair point mate Hard life eh Kev? Sitting there watching a bunch of teen and 20 year old girls jumping around in short skirts
  4. Hi folks, Im trading up my cz semi auto .22 for a bolt action. I was dead set on a Weihrauch HW60J to match my hmr, but I can't seem to be able to find one with a 16" barrel. Looking around, I was quite taken with the Browning T-bolt. Does anyone have much experience with these? How does it stack up against the HW for quality, build, trigger etc? Many thanks Duncan
  5. Cleaning guns! Whilst everyone else in the household is moping around, not being able to go out, I thought I'd treat my hmr and my beretta to a thorough clean and lube. If groups are anything to go by, the hmr was showing no signs of needing a barrel cleaning session. Still cloverleafing at 100 yards, even after 60-70 rounds being put through it since the last cleaning session. The 12 gauge Beretta has had some action lately (grins) but still didn't need an awful lot of cleaning, but its a good feeling, knowing your tools are ready for use and in pristine condition. Small consolation
  6. A regular flow of testing birds like that can make for some great, challenging shooting. Well done! Duncan.
  7. Nice right up simon, and I can't think of a better time had whilst decoying, That 'digweed' rook that we thought was a crow certainly came down with a thump! Hopefully my protege dog will be up for some retrieving work soon- she'd have cleared that stream without a problem lol! If memory serves, you almost had a swim yourself Thanks very much for the invitation and being such a generous host. Cheers Duncan. Ps what's wrong with shooting from a comfy sofa? A gentleman shooter like me likes his refinements lol.
  8. I don,t think a bipod worth bothering with a spring gun mate, too much of a kick Dead right - groups likes shotgun.
  9. The thing is Dunc....man has bred dogs supposedly for the better....not for the worse............the Lurcher is a fine animal bred from a cross of breeds whos great qualities were utilised in order to create a fine animal......you wouldnt use a Great Dane or a Corgi to make a Lurcher would you because they dont possess the traits needed......Likewise the apbt doesnt possess any of the qualities in abundance needed to create a good pet dog .....none whatsoever.........so this would just be backward breeding and i dont feel that can ever be condoned............now if you wanted to create a form
  10. the rest of them were thongs or pretty lacey things, you know, party knickers, just thought it'd be fun watching him try and explain away the grubby, jizz splattered ones i put up He'd probably bought out the cheap knicker draw at a department store! Good wheez G-Master!
  11. As a guide, a .17hmr barrel for a weihrauch hw60J is £150 fitted at my local Shop/smith

  13. If the rifle is accurate, then 10.5fpe is more than adequate for hunting. The power is almost certain to creep up as the rifle beds in. Good luck and try not to get hung up on the numbers, Duncan

  18. f*cking brilliant. I'm gonna try it with a laser sight I've got
  19. I'm a .177 convert - much more forgiving when it comes to rangefinding areas with that nice flat trajectory. Very hard to go wrong with a Weichrauch. The 95K is an absolute peach, had one for years and miss it since I got my 100, 5 years ago.
  20. Without gushing unduly, I am happy to say that Paulus has got a Jap made Tasco that he is giving to me. Amazingly generous or what?!!! Should be ideal for daytime bipod work. certainly owe this remarkable chap a favour or two
  21. Arguments? didnt realise they had been one or did i miss something? enlighten me. Arguments, as in fors and againsts, fox is/isn't vermin, rimmie is/isnt acceptable and so on and so forth... see above! Didn't mean people at each other in a traditional THL Stylee
  22. Thanks for all the great advice everyone. Roxy's recall is perfect most of the time, she just wants to play when she sees another dog. She'll be fine I'm sure. Sometimes she sees people she wants to say hello too and when I call her, I can see she is making her decision. When she comes to me as preference I praise her up loads! Would a lure be good for her to practise on if it's made deliberately easy for her?
  23. That could be just the ticket does it have IR?
