    Do some weights too. A bigger engine burns more at rest (ie tickover). The bigger your muscles are, the more they burn during exertion as well as at rest.

    Airgunning or hmr'ing squirrels, brancher day 12th May (airgun), rats to be done, woodpigeon with shotty or airgun, trying out new game recipe ideas, culling bunnies where landowners demand it, crayfishing, snuffing out as many crows and magpies as possible (for me, airgun, rimfire, shotgun or .17hmr - shoot on sight policy for me).

    in a similar vein, I cured my 16 year old lad of that detestable fashion of having his boxers on display and jeans hanging low. I used a brown felt tip marker and put a brown stripe on his laundered boxers at about where the top of the ass crack would be. Complete cure! Took him a few days to cotton on though

    I'd rather take a dead cert shot at 25 yards than an iffy one at 55 yards

    My take is the pound coin test. If you can put 5 shots out of 5 in a target the size of a pound coin at a range you want to hunt at, then you are ready to hunt humanely at that range. However, your rangefinding skills need to be good too, especially with a legal limit .22. Cheers Duncan
