  1. Is it a crime to post your opinion this forum now? I think when they are pro dog fighting its fecking daft, especially when idiots post links to dog fighting vids. Aint you ever thought what this kind of publicity does to hunting?
  2. Yeah well done, what ever the reason or personal view point maybe its best not to post such stupid things on a public forum??
  3. Your right red pit boar dog, those links should of been deleted by a mod and IMO so should of the idiot who thought it was alright to post them ;-)
  4. Looks a great day, those warrens are differnt to what we have down here, its nice to see what other pleaces people do. Some of my permission is the same as when my dad took me hunting as a nipper, been hunting the same land for best part of 30 years and i love it. You know it always surprises me, that I am still finding places on these spots which I have never ferreted also!! Good hunting Sirius
  5. Here you are. http://www.instructables.com/id/Tieing-a-Clove-Hitch/ Push your grommits onto the poles and clove hitch the top and bottom line to the grommit, But make sure you tie in a mesh from the net into the knot to keep the net in place. So when you make the two loops for you clove hitch put a mesh between them before attaching to the grommit.
  6. Lets hope the crazy Animal rights lot let people get on with it! It would surprise me if they tried toinfect the area with TB just to prove the idea of a cull is a failure. But good on the goverment for doing something rathetr than pandering to the bunny huggers and townies who dont even understand the countryside.
  7. Very nice shots, not always that easy to get close enough fora decent picture
  8. A trip to the greyhound vet is in order for a through check over, dont mess about
  9. I have always raised dogs on raw meat, bone, offal, eggs and some dairy products, basically a natural diet However I do use some porridge with the goats milk and honey for the milky meals initially. I dont see the point of mixing both Complete and fresh and I dont need convincing otherwise, to me it's simply not a great idea, when fresh food is fine.
  10. The most practical I should think is a dence broken coat, not long or smooth but inbetween. Tis personal preference really, but a waterproof coat is a benefit.
  11. Spike thats excellent exactly what I needed cheers!! Any ideas what to use as pins? Or where did you get them from?
  12. Any idea on how to attach the rubber best to a retro milbro? I have the black square rubber. Cheers for help in advance.
  13. So around either 9 1/2 months to 10 1/2 months
  14. Out of choice i would select a lurcher with herding breeds in it over a saluki type for ferreting. I havent seen anough saluki types ferreting to have loads of experience but I know it wouldnt be my first choice of dog to train as a ferreting dog. Especially if you have to tie them up while you have a ferret to ground A 10month pup should know a fair bit about the game by that age, and not needed to be tethered up like a terrier at a dig But I guess we all do it different. I am sure there are great pure and saturated desert dogs that do the job, but in my mind they lend themselves
  15. Nice job My pup is jumping them well but still takes the odd longnet out in the 'heat of the action'
  16. That looks a great day out! Dogs look in fine fettle and did well by the looks of things! Regards Sirius
  17. I would go for a purly raw diet and not use a complete as a mixer, its not ideal for many reasons, but many people do it and there dogs get away with it. If your feeding a good variety of flesh, offal and non weight baring bones you are in the right direction, ideally some pulverised vegtable matter is useful also. I also use some mineral supplements such as Kelp Seaweed Powder (its a natural version of SA37 and better absobed) and a few other if needed.
  18. Looks a nice enough net, personally i prefer a shorter net to set through the hedge, but then again in depends on your hedges. I also find setting a poke nets on the runs in the hedge almost as effective
  19. Thanks for your reply Topper. But I am afraid that Terramycin Aerosol Spray is a POM-V it can only be purchased with a prescription unless you are buying it effectivly illegally or under the counter (good luck to you if you are). If it was a POM- VPS then is could be dispenced by a SQP (Suitably Qualified Person which many agricultural merchants have on site) but it isnt a POM -VPS but a POM- V which needs to have a prescription. I have actually checked this with Pfizer and also NOAH (National Office of Animal Health) out of interest here is the link to the Noah Compendium http://www.noahc
  20. I am afraid it is a POM its a antibiotic spray generally blue in colour. As its a antibiotic it is a POM so you do need a scrip, some vets willl let you have it over the counter if they know. http://www.petdrugso...aspx?i=pr183095 http://www.petmeds.c...y-coloured.aspx http://www.horseandh...ad.php?t=341090 Maybe you got it mixed up with Purple spray which is not an antibiotic.
  21. That is a lovely looking animal ;-)
  22. My guess is a' Porcelaine' could be wrong, and I usually am Good thread
  23. I agree a mad dog pulling like a steam train on your arm, sounds a hideous nightmare to take lamping  I do take a young pup myself at times but generally on night time excerice not a serious session, IMO you dont need to let a young dog watch a older dog INFACT I can be a good way to start the young dog pulling and being a total nightmare while watching other dogs run Its a pretty undesirable habit to have to live with Why not just take your pup on its own when you want to enter it, seriously it will be more educational for the dog and less stress for yourself. Good luck with your p
