  1. Just had a look and yes one litter registered. Shes not Laguna, but a relative from the notoriously busy Mike Brown bred dogs, which has some Laguna way way (5-6 gens) back. I would pm you the link but you cant accept messages, clear your inbox
  2. If you had a kennel name (prefix) it would help. I expect she was not a genuine Laguna dog, unless bough from the lady who owns Laguna? If he has had the papers transfered into his name, you could also check with the KC.
  3. I am sure they would go, but there are things (not always easy) to make it easier on dog and owner. Better than supporting puppy farming in my book.
  4. There new smock (bit like a swandri) Looks a good bit of kit
  5. I love the fact people can't be arsed to breed a litter or maybe cull hard, they would rather support puppy farming ! Funny old world.
  6. A good dog, but I wouild like to think I would have something better during my lifetime....
  7. i agree that the way he breeds is not ideal and that handlers are often to blame but the handlers expectations are often way wrong..a collie x is a collie x in the main theyr'e not meant for whins open big land or as single handed fen dogs but if your into lamping rough pasture or ferreting woodland etc they do take some beating As long as your conscience can live with supporting puppy farming, and thats the crux of the matter. But like others have said, many people dont mind where there dogs come from.
  8. It's not the dogs that are at fault as often they can be good, although its more of a lottery when bought from a mass producer of dogs. Its just 'Puppy farming' that grates with me, it cant be defended on any level. Its for your own conscience to decide, if you want to support 'Puppy Farming' go for it. Definition of Farm: 'an area of land, together with a house and buildings, used for growing crops and/or keeping animals as a business' 'a place where a particular type of animal is raised in large numbers to be sold'
  9. This will be a great read Skycat as I know how hard you have worked on this project And from the sneak peak I had, I am sure plenty of people will also enjoy it, It left me wanting to read more, you cant be honest accounts of hunting thats for sure I must agree with poacher3161 a great price for nigh on 200 pages
  10. Not trying to piss on anyones chips, but mostly it comes from pastoral herding breeds, border collie, rough/smooth collie, oes, beauverons etc etc some non kc beardie(but that more than likely came about from a outcross to border collie) great Danes and a few hounds also are merle. But pretty well it originates from a pastoral herder. And my bet this dog is merle from border collie type, as it's most common. Good luck with the sale, would be nice to see a picture. Yis Sirius
  11. Happy Birthday, dont go too over board on the Shiraz and curry
  12. This will be a good day out, it's the first time they have run a show for several years.
  13. In the main I avoid eating battery eggs and try to eat free range meat also, as quite simply it mainly produces a poor quality product. This often happens when people mass produce a product for money. As for the ethics of breeding dogs for money on masse (puppy farming) well thats for the buyers own conscience, but it wont be on mine
  14. They often seem to throw smaller dogs from what I have seen. I would personally prefer one with less than half whippet, just enough to keep the size down a touch.
  15. I have seen a couple work and they were good dogs and handy, But the main objection I have is I will not support puppy farmers, and what ever way you try and look at it that is exactly what he is.
  16. Yes but a percentage will throw smooth, and the reason is that smooth is predominant over rough IMO
  17. I am sure It can happen but its less likely, the smooth coat gene from greyhounds and whippets is pretty well predominant over any other coat type.
  18. I like a robust collie lurcher, but finding some that are not commercially bred is not always an easy task.
  19. She's about 18 months About right for a first litter
  20. It's always the hardest place to catch rabbits and no amount of 'lure training will help' you can't beat gravity ask Isaac Newton lol
  21. A bitch who has pseudo pregnancies is likely to also be a repeat offender. You can prevent this with a licensed medicine called Raspberry Leaf Tablets, just give them from the start of the season for around 12 weeks. Once a bitch is in a pseudo you have to let it run its course, but you can use products to help dry up the milk as Mally has recommended. Good luck.
  22. Heart is great, remember its a muscle meat not like liver etc etc, so it can be fed daily but ideally mixed with tripe or chicken mince. Simply use it as you would a red meat. I also agree its lovely to eat.
