  1. i got one into about 15 feet and then managed to miss it in front of my old man who then went and told every man and his dog two weeks later and the joke is still going strong
  2. Afternoon all, looking for the about as my jills are just about to have their first ever kits and as such im going to need a couple more collars so if anyone is looking to sell some I'd really appreciate a heads up. Atb Ratsmasher
  3. Only issue with those is that they make you want to look at the gun rather than the target. IMO Best way forward is just to get into the habit of shutting one eye....or both when its going really bad
  4. I like sandies purly cos yellows my favorite colour but it doesnt bother me particularly either way as long as they work well
  5. thanks for that mate thats really useful
  6. Hi Geoff - could you put a picture of that set up on please? would be of great help atb Ratsmasher
  7. What amounts of each do you use please? 1lb alum and 2.5lbs salt in 5 gallons of warm water is the amount I use So all you do is stick you skin in it for a few days (a week?) and then scrape all the fresh and stuff of it and dry and its done? or have I misinterpreted it?
  8. I cant see it being welded in mate Ive got one and shoot 100 esp regular in about 40 min - i try to get round quick so i stay focused and that works out considerably more shots/hour than what you did and I dont clean as often as I should so I doubt you've welded it it would have to be properly hot to do that. Anyways if all else fails have a look at this worst case scenario 50 quid hope this helps
  9. I'm pretty sure its not bad for them i think they just get a bit lairy for a couple of weeks (thats just from what I've read so i may be wrong)
  10. might be a silly question but what effect does it have when the case splits? does the projectile have reduced velocity or something? or is it just ejection issues?
  11. have a look through these maybe avoid the webley and scotts though - they get some bad reviews atb Ratty
  12. It's funny because i'm dominant in niether eye (think its that way round) and so i'm far more accurate with an o/u than s/s and a lot more accurate when i close one eye. . . . . . otherwise my eyes/mind trick me into firing behind where i think im firing. Odd! maybe because your eyes are equally dominant when you mount the gun you obstruct some of the shooting eyes field of vision and so you subconciously use the other eye as the dominant one and so shoot as if you had the non shooting eye dominant.
  13. As I read it you should ring up your FEO and quote that^ bit and they should at least explain their reasoning.
  14. best thing to do is either spend a day at a clay club with a mate who is knowledgable on shotguns or get a lesson with an instructor - in my experience the basc ones are very good. It may cost a bit but at least then you know where you stand because if your doing something wrong and it becomes a habit it will cause you so much more trouble in the future. Shotguns and fit and all that is a really confusing thing so its best to get some advice from someone who knows their stuff. One quick thought though if I ever shoot at a sitter I aim for its feet because (dont ask me why) apparantly shotties
  15. there was an article in the BASC magazine about homemade cradles that used a spent cartridge....thats about the most inventive use I've ever heard of
  16. Depends how close really if less then 20 yards fair enough but Im sure I read somewhere that a 28bore has 60% more shot then a 410 for not a big increase in cartridge size. If it was me I'd go for a 12 bore though - cheap cartridges not as limited on what you can shoot and range and the gun will be cheaper too Might be a bit louder but you could get a hushpower Hope that helps
  17. thats tidy shooting mate, must have been really still day for 200 yards with HMR
  18. mossberg do a 5 shot pump action which would be sect.1 dont know what you want to use it for exactly but i think if I wanted bunny shotgun it would be a bit bigger then a .410 Im no expert but just a suggestion
  19. depends how bad if its small it will heal, maybe keep him in for a couple of days but if bad might need to go vets. Im no expert but my terrier has had a couple of little ones on his pad and they seem to heal quite quick, just need to make sure there's nothing still in it
  20. the first thing my ferrets ever bolted was a stoat, bit of a let down really because it was their first trip and we blanked
  21. i dreadthe day that that happens to me - how many did you get in the end?
  22. drain poles would be too bendy I've tryed to get birds out of trees that have got stuck as they fell before and it doesn't work.
  23. tbh mate sounds like you got enough reason for something bigger - so why not apply and save up for a new toy?
