Just Started Pup Trotting Next To The Bike..
trigger2 replied to tb25's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
true with longer lead, had Buck out last year with the bike , a rabbit run across the lane, pulled me into the edge, i tried to hold him back and brake, but no good he was to strong. i not sure if the main road be better,as i wouldnt see any rabbits or tree rats , as i do see the odd one or two in the lanes . keep the odds in your favour a quiet country road better for you ray. with the main road you are increasing your chances of getting hit by a car traveling at a good speed. as you know you can and do see wildlife on busy main roads. -
any pics of the dutch bitch? what work is she doing? ive tried to pm you but it says you cant recieve pms your inbox must be full.

A 2/3 day old pup is to young to micro chip and the vet should have just handed the chip over for when the up was old enough, the law says you have 6 months to chip the dog after the docking has been done.. i wasnt sure on the law but they said the pups had to be brought in at 8 weeks to be microchipped by them because anyone else doing the pups couldnt prove that they were the ones that had been leagally docked by the vets. if they dock them they microchip them and sign it off and release the paper work for the docking withn the chip documentation aswell.
-
vets are on a good crack again too. i went with my sister to tkae a litter of cockers in to be docked and dew clawed which they done no problem once proof of them being working dogs was produced. my sister had found someone to micro chip the pups at a fraction of the cost and told the vet that she wouldnt use them for the microchipping. the vets reply was they had to do them or else they wernt releasing the paperwork for the docking, plus they had to do it and sign the dogs of to say that the pups microchipped were the ones they had origianally docked. so again they are having there pocke

had a chap write my car off last april and he got admitted fault and straight away and his insurance company phone me and asked if i would deal straight with them instead of going through my insurance as there client had admitted fault. i dealt directly with them and it was dealt with in 3 weeks. i had a the full works from them a top courtesy car the full shabang. i would see if you can deal direct with the chaps insurance company if hes admitted fault and they are happy to that as it wont effect the misses policy, if you go through your insurance company although the accident wasnt your

Plenty start to show faults after the age of 3. Let's have it right, up to 12 months old they are pups, up to 2 years old they are seeing a bit and learning the ropes. After that they should have a proper season to go at. So after 1 proper season you know if it isn't a goodun? Not sure I agree with that. Not disputing you sometimes need to take a chance and breed young when continuing a line. But to say you know it's a goodun at 3? I agree with the lads saying 3-4 good seasons to know what you've got. true gaz. i always think that youth and enthuisasium in a dog can so

i could be on the lookout for a rabbiting dog later on this year and like the sound of a border x whippet "ive always had a lot of regard for borders" would a leggy border x be quick enough to catch ? given decent stock to start with ! i would imagine it could be capable of providing quite a lot of fun !, i know its not a long range dog but as a general rabbiting dog ! i was leaning towards a beddy whippet but food for thought for a novice rabbiter . ive caught rabbits on the lamp with a long legged border on more than one ocassion and had plenty of good days out ferreting hedges with on
