    ive got a 75 yard quickset longnet 4 or 6 oz its a old net with a couple of holes in it still catches rabbits ok. its net without basket i thought i would put it up on here as somebody might want it, if not i will throw it away collection only craven arms

    nice one again lads. i am leaving my house shortly to make that long trip to meet vin and Tomo for a day out with my pup and kits.

    thanks mate hows yours getting on? the misses let him out in the garden with my other dog and they were running round flat out and by all accounts he hit one of the metal upright posts for the washing line, he hit it hard has he bent it earlier on in the day before i took him lamping. he was lucky he never hurt his self.aw never he was lucky then.Mines about 25" now and solid with it, doesn't look like a 3/4 bred at minute.     he pulls like f**k when hes being held back. i need to spend some more time out in the field with him which i will do when the moon goes down. just me and him as hes better behaved and less head strong on his own.

    ive put alot of time into the pup to get his fitness levels up. hes been thrown in at the deep end from day one.

    its not brialant here at the moement to be honest mate. its hard to find a nice spot where the rabbits are green, so i need to put the weather in my favor. theres spot where there are plenty of rabbits but the young inexperienced lads hunt them you put the lamp on and the rabbits are gone you may just get to run 1 rabbit in some fields if you are lucky.

    i had a bitch pup out of a little bitsa bitch 18tts crossed to a 29tts saluki greyhound accedental mateing by all acounts, they didnt know anything about dogs and just assumed that although the bitch was in season the dog would never get her, they kept them together in the house. she had 3 pups fine, 2 bitches and a dog the bitch turned out 21.5 tts the dogs 27tts.

Good going trigg the drive there and he little incident ain't bothered him .atb bunnys. cheers. that little incedent dont seem to have bothered him at all which is a good thing. he was very head strong i dont think the ferreting i done the weekend helped matters much but i know he will adjust with time. heres a couple of pics of the catch taken this morning just as its getting light.

    i had a txt earlier today of a friend asking if i fancied a run out tonight with the dogs as there was a nice band of rain forcast so we thought it best to take advantage. the night didnt start the best with my mate being a hour late but we cracked i run the pup first few runs to which he had the first 4 rabbits on the bounce. The pup was a little wound up and hard work in alot of ways tonight perhaps the malinios blood made him a little keen, but you have to take the rough with the smooth with young dogs. as the night went on and we settled the dogs quietly picked up a few rabbits missin

    good stuff. ive just got back in and the misses had let the dogs out on the garden this afternoon and ben has hit the washing line pole running round with buster its metal and concreated into the ground hes bent the pole. he seems ok in his self the misses said he hit his back leg on it so i just hope he aint hurt his self. all the stuff hes done in the field and he goes and does that today. he aint lame and has got no pain there so i just hope hes got away with it. the weathers good i will run him tonight and see if hes ok.

    thats spot on. a good marking dog is a must when getting young ferrets going. my dog is always right so i can enter the young ferrets with confidence i find it helps you get to understand each ferret better and faster. my polecat ferret is coming out right behind the rabbit so i know hes working well enough. the other ferret is a fare way behind the rabbit at the moement from the 1 ive seen him bolt which makes me think it was more luck than actuall hunting skill.

    to be honest i felt like getting rid but after a chat with one of my mates i decided to perservere with the not so good one. time and patience and a good marking dog is needed so as i know for sur there are rabbits in every warren i enter them into until they are upto scratch

    it was king. i am mainly a lamper so anything my dogs do in the day is a bonus to me. i will probably only get out a handfull of times ferreting each year except this on where i will put a little more time and effort into the ferrets and pup.

    i managed 6 rabbits i took the pup who is only 7 months old and 2 of this years kits. only out just over 3 hours loads of scent, not sure if the old dog was being put of marking by the pup either

    nice one lads. i had a little trip out ferreting myself today with my young team. i got the spot and was putting my boots on to realize i had forgot my shovel so i had to shoot straight back home and fetch it. that was a hour out of the day.
