i wouldnt think you will have any problems with her being agreeable with a stud dog when the time is right, i am sure nature being what it is she will be more than willing if not a good experienced dog will sort her.

nice one terry. i can assure you that your not the only one who makes some sort of stupid noise to distract a rabbit running past you.

Dogs Not Performing Like Normal
trigger2 replied to lurcher man george's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
i had problems with mine a few season ago mate he would go down the beam flat out as usual strike at a rabbit and if he missed it more often than not he would pull off it way before the hedge then he would probably catch the next 2 or 3. sometimes he would limp when retrieving rabbits back all examinations that i done came back good. in the end it was his front dew claws getting caught up as he was running at times or going down for a strike hence why after he missed a squatter he wasnt over enthusiastic at catching it. had them removed never had a problem since. also a good bone man is wo -

Once you have tried thermal NV it will blow your mind how much stuff you have missed with just lamping i may just give it a go one night mate.
-
mik how you going about this nightsite vs the led vs the halogen thing. i can get my hands on a real good thermal imaging camera and wouldnt mind giving it a go one night. i think i would expect to see less rabbits in some places as soon has i put a lamp on because the lamp shy ones will go straight away whilst i am looking in other parts of the field thus making me think i cant see them where i could with the nightsite/thermal imaging kit.

I still have tea regularly with carnation/ideal milk in, always reminds of being in my Nans as a kid. carnation milk is that the stuff you can buy in the tins? if it is i got a mate and when his mum use to run out of normal milk she use to get the tin out and say weve only got pigeon milk left so that will have to do you. That's the stuff aye, its an acquired taste that's for sure lol. lol. i dont mind it. just never been able to get my head round why my mates mum calls the stuff pigeon milk.

thats a sad state of affairs. outsiders moving into the country interfearing with country life is so f***ing wrong and annoying. trouble is the law will probably stick up for her.

i drink pg tips decaf black with 2 sugars. i always leave the last swig in the bottom of my cup just out of habbit. we always had proper tea in a pot when i was a kid and from time to time we would get a hole in the tea strainer, you would always end up with a few tea leaves in the bottom of your cup and they tasted shit so i always leave the last swig in the bottom of the cup now. alot of people always say why havent i drunk all my tea

i am using the 150 led just started with it this season mate. i took 2 dogs out with me the first night just to see if the beem colour made any difference to them which it didnt. so far ive never had it go flat on me. as i said on a post before( time will tell with it.) admittingly it took me a few nights out to get use to it. missing spotting a few rabbits aint a bad thing as they are for next time lol. my pups has been brought on with the 150 and has no problems either. i use to use the lance lamp with a 30watt bulb before hand so ive never been one for lots of light. sometimes i would put t

i had got a figure total of a 100 rabbits to try and catch over this first season in my head, as long has i keep at him steady i think he will do that comfortably.
-
i will work him steadier mate. the penny will drop for him he will get to know the difference its just time. i dont mind missing a few rabbits early doors with the pup as hes learning.
-
cheers mate. when i say 12 out of the 13 i ment he caught 13 rabbits in total and there is just 12 in the bag as he dropped one and it made its escape. 12 out of 13 runs would be some going ive never had a dog do that round here.

decided to have me another little trip out with my pup again tonight to a little spot that holds a rabbit or two. i work my dogs off the slip and just recently ive been taking the pup ferreting and letting him hunt up. the first 3 fields were a nightmare tonight as he just put his nose down and worked the field so we hardly got a run, once he had blew a little steam off i finally spotted a pair of rabbits squat in the corner of the field, so i walk up and get myself into the best position i can light on pups off down the beam gets right on the rabbit before it moves and picks it up within 15 y
