    this sort of thing seems to happen quite often by the ammount of posts put up on forum .had a lurcher pup years back that got ragged about by grey hound bloke didnt give a toss so i threw him in the burn! he avoided me like the plague after that ,pup made full recovery and no worse for his ordeal

    like has been said mate jump on the last bus/ train with dog lamp etc in a rucksack and walk home lamping as you go then when you pass your test the worlds your oyster. im a north east lad and travelled to edinburgh every friday night for my sport .loved every minute of it still tell thestories today to the young uns in their trackies /bull crosses lol

    hope you have great success with the cross lads and as for job all what do you achieve running your dog /bitch when its fecked let me say this mate one day your fecked dog will keel over if you run it when its fecked .a dog should be stopped when its fecked!

    i get 30 quid a day beating on one shoot i do but i do another shoot for free as its a close mate of mine -both shoots let me vermin shoot whenever i want but to be honest i just love the walk about and the patter most lads / lasses do it for the love of the country side in my opinion

    not all 1st crosses are up to the job mate but it depends on what cross and what type of work you you want your dog to do- horses for courses mate

    my mate lost his bitch while lamping up here in north east a long while back he phone all the relevant people in the hope of finding her but to no avail. he works as a mechanic and several days later a customer turns up for some work to her car and you can guess whos dog was in the back seat! the lass in the car had BOUGHT the bitch from the same kennels that had just a few days earlier said they hadno lurcher bitches in there kennels. police were informed and dog returned to rightful owner just goes to show what these people are capable of hope yoy get sorted mate

    well by some of the posts written it proves it can happen maybe not alot of times but it happens unless all the positive replies to this topic are lies so i think before some of you lads jump in to ridicule the lad just give him the benefit of doubt not looking for argument just my opinion

    well here goes lads/Lasses,many moons ago i was out with a 7 month pup collie x greyhound up in a little place called coldingham [berwick].we were out for a few rabbits on a turnip field when my pup took a bunny ,as he was retrieving it a fox came from no where and actually ran at the pup who then dropped the rabbit which ran away. this same pup turned out to be the best fox dog i ever owned and took fox from 11 months onwards i dont know if his earlier experience had owt to do with it but boy this dog hated them with a vengeance

    i thought every lurcher man knew what a squater was but if its a serious question then a squater is a rabbit that tucks its self into the grass/ground etc in the hope of not being seen and it then enables you to walk right up to it making it an easy catch for an experienced dog atb billy

    well after losing my little cocker bitch ive just been offered a springer pup 12 days old now so its time to move forward and begin the next chapter of training a pup again [which i find very rewarding] ive picked a nice well marked dog and when i get him home i will put a few pics up

    i was beating in northumberland a while back [loads of buzzards] and the keeper got a lad in with a golden eagle sorted!
