  1. Surely it's up to you to say what your looking for in the stud dog. After all it's you that's breeding from the bitch and you will know what you expect the future pup to have to do when it's old enough. It would help if you gave us all a clue to what cross you'd prefer.
  2. As has been said already forget all this 1/32this and 1/32that pish. If you are happy that the parents are good enough to breed from and they are going to produce what you want/need in a lurcher then by all means go for it. By the way 3/4.........5/32.......1/32...are not percentages they are fractions. 3/4 = 75% If he's hit home best of luck with the future litter.
  3. I prefer red, don't think it can be beaten. I tried the orange filter once and it just looked like the battery was running low, very off putting.
  4. The dam's offspring can be found in the link below. According to the list there were 3 dogs in the litter to Larkhill Jo, 2 blacks and a white and black. That should narrow it down a bit. http://www.greyhound-data.com/d?p=607530
  5. This thread was about the English derby mate.
  6. Have you been in hibernation MACRORIE. What do you think of Loyal Honcho, would you give him a chance?
  7. the westmead prefix is used by british breeder nick savva, westmead lines are massive with many different dogs in the breeding, do you know the specific westmead dog that is in your lurcher? but if not as a rule the westmead dogs are very good As Mark says you'll need to be a bit more specific as there are 286 bitches that have had the Westmead prefix. Here's the list.- http://www.greyhound-data.com/d?d=westmead...er=name&x=0
  8. Dont run them together... compleet and utter d*ck You asked a question, the lad gave you his answer and that's how you reply. If you are that wise why did you ask in the first place As for saying they "rip each other to bits" Bit of a storyteller are you.
  9. read it again There was no mention of "running them on quarry" in the first post. I'd have thought if they were running quarry they'd be concentrating 100% so wouldn't be fighting. Whereas if they were just off the lead running about there would be nothing to take their minds off each other so I'm guessing that's when their fighting. Maybe jedandlevo can put us in the picture.
  10. That's why i wrote "as a whole" meaning overall & not one specific track. There are still some very slow & cheap dogs bought over for the sales at Swansea & Highgate that would really struggle to grade for BAGS racing even. Its still a bit rough to buy a half decent grader & run for £20 win money though & if you like to have a bet have to with bookies that bet to ridiculous overrounds especially if you run your dogs that are trying every time. What do the bookies at Gretna bet to & have they altered the drop for the sprint trip? it seems the only negative about the t
  11. I only run dogs at Gretna Cupid and the quality of runner is fairly strong, I think you'd be surprised. What you've got to take into account is the amount of low grade races run on the ngrc, A8, A9, A10 etc,the vast majority of these dogs wouldn't be able to qualify at Gretna.
  12. Some pictures career started off at Dundalk and Dunmore, he was bought by Alf Pennycook who lived in Gretna. It was after Alf bought him that he started flapping. Your right about him being one of the best Max, he was a sick dog in the run up to the final of the irish derby and Charlie Lister wanted to pull him out but the owner Steve Spitteri wouldn't let him as there was a lot of money up for grabs for any dog that won all three derbies in the same year.
  13. where do you get your info tote??? my greyhound has the ear mark eup4 an a cant find info on her either....she is silver in colour an a think the name inkerman was in her "real" name...cheers Try here,- http://www.ngrc.org.uk/ Give them a ring, they should be able to help. Silver, has someone painted her. Seriously, what colour is she mate?
  14. Yes Dawn I think she would be a litter sister to Harps Hostess and Stourvalley Jet . Looking at their races they are/were running in a very low grade. As for the breeding it wouldn't be the best but I don't think that will make any difference to you. All the best with the bitch.
  15. Could the tattoo be nxy6 and is it in her right ear? Also is she a black bitch?
  16. I run dogs at Gretna Kris,if the bitch had been there I might have seen her.
  17. What was the bitch called Kris?
  18. Well done Rew,a good bag of rabbits there.
  19. What price would that be? As I don't see a price mentioned. Edited to add,all the best with the forthcoming litter Benny.
  20. nice salmon and sea trout (i think) what did ya catch the sea trout on? what weight were both the fish? They both look like salmon to me.
  21. If I remember correctly this is the company that advertises portamags in the greyhound star. Romar Electronics Torne Gatehouse, Epworth, Doncaster, South Yorkshire, DN9 1LE 01427 875004
  22. I'd have to disagree with that mate, as has been said already if it's not in the dog it won't matter how good the owner/trainer is he won't put it into it.
  23. There's any amount of rabbits on that bit of permission and every year at August mixy strikes and wipes half of them out,so I'm helping myself to a few before it arrives. Here's a couple of pics I took last week of the same ground as I shot last night. As you can see there's any amount of rabbits there.
