before i lost my dad we had a fish house with 109 tanks and 3 comunity tanks in the house what i would say from my personal experience is dont add tuffa unless you have brackish water fish or mollies etc as the fish do not need it and all it does is add a little salt and alter the chemistry in the water a little 90% of fresh water tropicals would have never come into contact with tuffa rock it is like putting salt in the tank if you intend on a comunity tank that the fish will stay in then bash on but if you stick them in a tank with tuffa then pass the fish on to a tank without it its like buying mollies from a pet store they have been in salted water and will be prone to disease. Anyway as for lengths of time before introduction of fish it depends on your local water chemistry and the type of fish i have owned fish from xiphophorus cortezi from both the vanasco and re degenero regions wild sword tails which both were introduced to water that had been in a bare tank with no substrate just a sponge filter after a week also apisto gramma dwarf cichlids from various genus all these and many more were f1 or wild caught from expiditions in mexico i was part of a fish club and won variouse shows as a child i also used to breed angels in pritty un mature water aswel as alot of killi fish gardneri , striatum , aplochilies etc i muct have had decent enough water but never had any bother with fish disease or loss of fry i used alot of bog wood and plants sylvinias etc which help. in my comunity tanks i had discus cardinals aphosium striatum (spelling) and many more demanding in condition fish but i didnt aproach any differently and had no problems. advice on fish shops would be Bolton Aquatics the superstore no place compares in size and variation of fish in my opinion although on trips i noticed some of the fish were in salt water always dip a finger in the tank your buying fish out and taste the water youl taste if it has salt in it we also used to visit wigan pier aquatics used to be the place to go for catfish although last time i was there was before it all changed and that was a good 7 years ago i think penrith has a cracking little place used to have some cracking discus and clowns at cracking prices . Scotland i personaly like the house of pices in dundee a bit dark and dingy not the cleenest but he has a heck of alot of fish you need to look but youl find some rarer fish mixed in with shoals , theres also ultamate discount in cupar decent enough for both marine and tropical and the cupar garden centre has some not bad fish but is not as good as it was a few years back . i aint had fish in a few years but have a 6'x2'x2' tank that ill be setting up when im in my own house with plenty bog wood ferns moss some nice comunitys and some striatum killi fish unlike the gardneri and alot of others the striatum make decent comunity fish and there colours are second to none although unless you are in with a club or decent aquarists youl struggle to get them.
  3. i also feed red mills 28% protien and its mixed with a mixture of tripe mince deer scraps and meety bones pigeon breast an egg each twice a week fish twice a week they seem to enjoy the varied diet and are always looking well on it.
  4. is this still available ?
  5. was there last year might head down although didnt think there was much going on might be diff last year.
  6. bump nice wagon here for someone idea dogging wagon tuns of space in these and easy cleaning with the lining !
  7. Ill start with the pup she is 5 months now coming along fine recall almost 100% although she is the most excitable and forward whippet i have owned usually they tend to stick close but she is pretty forward she is kc and barnsmore , cornstalk lines etc (show) say what you like personally i dont think it matters whether they are show or working bred its how they are brought up she has had 2 half size rabbits and did anything but hesitate so she should enter no probs ill be holding her back this season she is a bit young but she will be watching and learning. Second dog is my beddyxwhippet wheatonxgreyhound he is about the 13 month mark and is coming on a treat marks holes retrieves live to hand every time jumps anything works cover like a spaniel and is as keen as mustard should get a good first season with this dog he has already taken his fair share he was self entered and has certainly never stopped more pics to follow. Next is the older whippet bitch she is coming up for 3 in december she is a bit full throttle and is balls out constantly she is steady as they come among stock although she tends to have a mind of her own and hunts out up front mainly as she is scared she misses something she is a handy little ferreting bitch and will mooch all day but i cant get her going on the lamp she follows the beem but over shoots almost every time so tends to miss most but we should change that as this will be her first full season here. having a peek. marking up. its a hard old life. poser. lastly is a bitch i kind of co own with my under study i bought the bitch about 6 months ago and have gave the young lad the dog as his first dog he is doing a fine job as i knew he would she is coming up for the year mark and is coming on a treat marks for fun retrieves live to hand every time and unlike my older bitch she has taken to the lamp like a duck to water think its because she is a tad slower so gets a strike rather than runing past them anyway here she is opinions welcome good or bad and lets see what whippets are about this season.
  8. i would go for a springer cover more ground faster than most and are much more bidable and easyer to train than the cocker a lab just isnt fast enough for me.
  9. when she due in season mate ? are the pups all spoken for ?
  10. sort of size do you expect her to make mate ?
  11. good man fennman1 , pup is a cracker mate hope you have lots of fun with him in the future.
  12. i never keep same sex pairs some get on fine others dont its not worth the risk 2 of my whippets are at 6 months and play fight constantly dont hurt each other but keep me up half the night so they are both kenneled with an older dog of the other sex to quieten them down a bit as the older dog wont take there playing mine are out for an hour at 6am out for ten mins just before 5 and then out for 1-2 hours at half 8 every night and still want to play constantly they are full of beans only way to stop it is through splitting em up
  13. thanks rioh im gonna get some just waiting on a lad getting me a number for someone to look him over i didnt expect the gel to cure it just thought it would maybe ease his pain a bit so make him a little more comfortable but ill get him cheked over and keep you all informed hopefully its fixable and ill have plenty fun this season

are you being serious the dog was checked 2 months ago bye a vet i didnt like his advice so asked on here for advice or details of a specialist ? as for the breeding my dog is well over three has proven himself on many occsions and i can prove that threw footage so get over yourself i wouldnt dream of putting him over anything other than a good proven bullx and anything under 3-4 would be knocked back i made it clear now this dog has seen more holes than the local gum clinic and has just been bread to a dog of 2 years old with bad feet christ lets promote our stud dog throws pups with bad feet on an open forum ? yeah bright idea that eh that mting should only ever have been done for private use and thats clearly not the case or pups wouldnt be advertised on here as for my dog the one litter he does sire will not be for sale as the pups will all be reserved im no longer looking anyway going to buy a bitch of my own to put him to and mates will get the pups wouldnt waste my time with any idiot on this site as that is proven time and time again thats all anyone is .
  15. hi mate she is getting there everythings perfect sept when she gets to me its like she is over excited and drops the dummy wagging her tail and cowing i just praise her and try again she does the same on water but ill try stoping her at the edge while she doesnt have the chance to drop it excitedly cheers for the advice
