So all dogs are the same then.

If the jills in season fully she'll have the kits 40-44 days after the hobs lined her.

That would be my top tip. I cringe at the thought of a dog running into a harrow that has been left at the side of a field and the grass has grown over it. There would be no more lamping for that dog for a while if at all. all depends how brainy your dog is and if you let i learn by leaving it work loose and took it out from a pup . Can't see that it would make any difference how brainy the dog was. how about it remembers what it has learnd since a pup running loose using its brain ,ie one eye on the chase and one looking for danger .just like you chasing some one or thing

They're all different mate, each to their own. As long as they're out doing something and not sitting at home on the playstation or computer all the time i'm happy.

Great post Hullhunter, it's good to see the young ones starting out. My youngest Brodie had his first trip out at 18months. Here's my eldest Dylan, the first time he went ferreting he was only 4 months and spent all of the time in his buggy,he's 15 now and out on his own. My other son Declan isn''t into ferreting, football is his sport. He does go with his brother sometimes to give him a hand.

I know of one litter and none of them made the grade, they all had different owners some where experienced and some first timers. Maybe some think it was down to the rearing, training and entering by the different lads but I saw a few of that litter work and they didn't have it in them, that's the way it is sometimes.

If the ingredients aren't there to start with no amount of training will put them there.

Your mate either hasn't seen much, hasn't a clue or had a beer too many when he came out with that statement. Any experienced lurcherman will be able to tell you that not every dog makes the grade, that is a fact. When you say your bitch has been letting her rabbits go what do you mean? Has she just been running them without catching or has she been catching them then letting them go again? I'd agree with you about starting her off on her own, sometimes when they're run doubled the youngster will hold back and let the older [possibly more dominant] dog do the work and I can't see a be

So why add YOUR comment to the 20 pages................... ? Why shouldn't he? Because he's whinging about 20 pages of it....and then contributing to it !!!! So he's not entitled to post his opinion? I've read through the 20 pages aswell CP and winnie's right, surely even you can see that? Of course I can see it.....but can't you see the idiocy of it ???? Complaining about how long a thread has gone on... but adding to it ???????? You could look at it another way CP. Can't you see the irony of it ???? Complaining about how long a thread ha

Thats good then miss lurcher, but i cant understand how that pup can be a pup still when the pic was taken in 2004, that would make it 6yr old? Quite easy to understand i'd imagine, mlb won't be the first or last person that hasn't set the date on her camera. Simples.

Ash you say you know about breeding yet in your first post you wrote this,- "the other 2 havent really come in that fare there not swelling right up i have had them in with the hob but they a a tumble but dont actualy do it what could be happening ." That doesn't sound like someone who knows about breeding. Be patient and wait untill they come into season properly before putting them in with a hob.

My mate came down with his pup today, he's a Saluki X Greyhound. Not my cup of tea as i'm more of a collie X greyhound man but what do youse think of him.
-
You might have hit the nail on the head there mate.
-
Looking good Keeps.
-
Surprised at that as my boys come before anything.
-
You got Kids mate? No dog or pup would come before my three boys.
-
Neither, don't rate the stuff. Either Beta Greyhound, Chudleys Greyhound or Gain 28% would be better options, but each to their own.
