  1. I've got one like that at the moment, but to be fair it's the only one i've had in over 25 years. The short answer to the original question is,-Yes. But most prefer company.
  2. Not for the first time I have to agree with "The one". A mate of mine kept 3 hobs together and hadn't a bit of bother.
  3. Brilliant pics Romany, thanks for putting them on.
  4. He's not breeding pure to a 3/4, he's breeding a pure [greyhound] to a 1/4 [greyhound] which makes 5/8th greyhound.
  5. Both, I usually have boards for the first 2.5ft and mesh above.
  6. 700KG and it's only half the weight of your hob. How big are your hutches? Joking aside, I wouldn't bother with any dry food, get some raw meat into it and providing it's healthy it'll soon gain some weight.
  7. Air Arms S410K .177 calibre with Tasco golden antler 3-9 x 40 TV view scope and Air Arms silencer. The gun is in as new condition and i'll throw in a tin of AA field pellets. I'm willing to travel 20 miles to meet up with prospective buyers, eg New Cumnock[A76], Abington[M74] and Dumfries[A76, A75]. I'm looking for £420ono. 8. Not according to some of the replies on this thread.
  9. Wullieh is right, the vet knows nowt about ferrets. Especially when he says,-" they are ok now but it wont be long before they start to deteriorate". You say you're getting increasingly worried Zach but you've no need to, if your jills where to stay in season they wouldn't be the first nor will they be the last. Just keep them well fed, watered and clean and they'll be fine.
  10. Black recking it says,-"my new dog got him the day from thomsons dogs from here what do use think" Rootertooter says,-"genuine lad t.d and sayed to me just to give him a shout any probs atall but with the looks of things im well happy" Are youse sharing the dog? Maybe just taking turns with it.
  11. It's a forum mate, someone asks a question and others give their opinions, that's how it works.
  12. Your mate B.R.I. seems to have a memory malfunction, here's two of his quotes. "WALKED THIS CANNAL AND THE PARKS WITH T.D AND HIS DOGS PLENTY TIMES HE A GOOD LAD AND HIS DOGS KEEP HIM HAPPY" "i got the pics sent to my phone that goes about with the guy thats the reason i put them up and the guyt that goes the walk with him is my mate i dont really no him [refering to T.D]" He either walks out with him or he doesn't Doesn't really make any difference to me but why say he does in one post then say he doesn't in another. On another subject, where is TD? according to B.R.I. he'

  16. dont no think he was on here but got banned his mate told me i to go and see it the mora Who are you trying to kid? This is what you wrote on a thread started by Thompsonsdogs,-"quoteWALKED THIS CANNAL AND THE PARKS WITH T.D AND HIS DOGS PLENTY TIMES HE A GOOD LAD AND HIS DOGS KEEP HIM HAPPY PUTS ALOT OF WORK INTO THEM HERE HE HAS A NEW PUP SO THINK THE WALKS WILL BE ON THE CARDS AGAIN SOON" Now you're saying you don't know what he's got. TD is still on here, photo's don't lie. I'ts just that he's had a name change. Have a look at post 29 and 30 in the thread below and y
  17. Exactly. I always find it amusing when I read posts about saying that "jills must be taken out of season" when they come into heat and folk are told not to listen to owners that "clearly dont care about the welfare of their jills". Yet on another thread they're quite happy to advocate the feeding of dry food, when as everyone knows meat is best.
  18. Used to do it when I was a boy, we called it guddling. In those days all the burns [streams] had a healthy population of troot. We used to walk upriver along the bank and the troot would shoot either below an overhanging bank or below a rock. Then it was just a case of getting into position then slowly entering your hands into the water, one infront of the troot and the other behind it. You can run your fingers along it's belly while you get both hands in the right position then you grab it and throw it onto the bank or you just grab it straight away and throw it out. I've also guddled sea

Does anyone know where I can buy the net bag for a long net basket?
  20. Thanks for the comments everyone.
  21. As promised MLB here are some recent pics of Blue, he's 27 weeks today and stands 22". First up a bit of retrieving. Some jumping. And some from todays walk.
  22. All the dogs i've had have been between 23" and 25" and they've all reached their full height before they're 12 months.
  23. Some of the things you read on here you just couldn't make up.
  24. Here's a recent pic of a litter mate, he was 6 months old last Friday and stands 22".
  25. I've heard this from other people...do you think its just a myth that they need to be brought out of season then? I've kept ferrets for a long time and in all that time i've worked the same way. When the jills come into season if I'm breeding from one or some of them I do, the others don't get bred from and they don't get the jab or go to a jaffa hob. They remain in season untill they come out naturally which is usually August, I've yet to lose one or even have one in poor condition. Maybe i've been lucky over the years.
