do you think hunting with dogs should be legal?
tote replied to labsnlurchers's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Done. Still says 51%-49%. -
As has been said already decent dogs do come up for sale, allways best to ask for a trial if you don't know the dog though. On the other hand there is also a lot of sh!t sold aswell, yappers, jackers, etc so it can be a risky business buying an adult dog without a trial.

His name on here is "dog".... also the thread had been up on here for a week so why pull it now . This was a genuine sale. mods rarely sit on the computer scanning every new post, hundreds get posted daily, so theres always a few that slip through the net, it maybe got pointed out by another member using the "REPORT" button as advised, get his name number and post under his own name, saves breaking rules, at least whoever deleated it, did'nt increase your warning level for posting it Ive seen loads of posts on here saying "selling for a mate who hasnt got computer access" w

Two (or more) kills with one shot?
tote replied to subwoofer's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
My brother in law killed 2 rabbits with one pellet, the gun was a Air Arms TX200 .177 calibre. The rabbits were not lined up. The first was shot in the head and the pellet obviously came out at an angle and killed the second rabbit. Luckily for him he had a witness. -
I get them done as pups and that's it. Have a read of Ditch Shitters pinned thread at the top of this section, it'll tell you all you need to know. http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=26940

You answered your own question Adam when you wrote,-"is still very imature". I've got one here at the moment who's 8 month and he's not ready yet, the times getting nearer though.

well i think you need to check yor info mate as gain 28 is made by red mills if im not mistaken and is more or less the same I would think you were mistaken Brian, but if you can show me otherwise then fair do's. As I've already said there was a big difference in the amount and texture of shit the dogs passed so that would indicate they're not the same. Just had a look through the 'net Brian and Conneleys make Red Mills feeds and Gain is made by Glanbia feeds which would suggest your info might be wrong.

Gettin my 8 month old pup to jump
tote replied to Rain's topic in Working Dog Health & Training Talk
As has been said already put some planks of wood in a gateway that you go through everyday so that when you go your walk the dog has to jump them to follow you. Start off low and gradually increase the height as the dog gets more confidence. -
Couldnt of put it better me self, thats exactly what its like So you need to be pedantic mate, if you say "come here" he has to return to you. If he thinks he can get away with it when he wants to he will, give him an inch an he'll take a mile. First thing I'd do is to do away with the treats, they might be okay for a very young pup but not for one at 8 months. It sounds like he's coming for the treat not coming because you called/whistled, so if he's got something more interesting than a treat infront of him he just ignores you. Hannah offers some good advice when she menti

I notice a lot of you swear by Red Mills. I'm the opposite, fed it to my dogs once but never again. I noticed an increase in the amount they shit and it was coming out of them like cow pats, loose and green. I have used Chudleys Greyhound and Chudleys Crunch aswell as Gain 28% and found them to be far better than the above, less shit and the dogs look better.

The wood looks rotten Kay [that's as in worn out not terrible]. Another piece of inch thick plywood would do the job.

if anybody challenged me with somthing decent to answer too then i would reply and if i have missed somthing then i am sorry. So you either, 1-missed my first post in this thread. 2-chose to ignore it. 3-don't know of any experiments that have been carried out. 4-the question wasn't decent enough for you to answer. Which one was it? Possibly number 2. Wrong again, if you read your post again yo will see that you didn't direct it at anyone let alone me so i have nothing to reply too. I'm wrong again Wullie, something that you never seem to

He can now add English Derby winner 2010, to his CV. If he was your dog where would he go from here? the stud paddock or carry on his racing career? Y.I.S Leeview Good question mate and possibly one you wouldn't really be able to answer for sure unless you were Ray White [the owner]. Think i'd be talking it through with Charlie Lister [trainer] to hear his views but a crack at the Irish Derby would be an option.

Stand the dog next to a wall/fence etc and lay a pen across the top of it's shoulders and mark the wall. Then measure the height of the mark, easier than trying to measure the dog which usually moves about.

You been living on another planet? 13 and 14 yrs old, aye whatever.. I totally agree with you Jai when you say,-" it is important to have a balanced answer to these questions not just an assertion that one way is right and everyone else is a fool." But as you can see from some of the above quotes from this thread that isn't always the case. It looks to me that it's either their way or the highway for a certain few on here.

You been living on another planet? It's a forum Jai and he's entitled to his opinion, remember.

I've asked this question before, on here and on other forums but as yet haven't had an answer so i'm hoping I might get one this time. I've noticed that quite a few are saying that if a jill stays in season she will lose condition, be poorly and possibly die. Others are saying that they've had jills live to a ripe old age and never been taken out of season, not possible say some. We can read all the vetinary papers telling us what will [or should] happen if jills are not taken out of season, but my question is,- has anyone heard of any experiments that have been carried out [big or s

Might there be another option.
