  1. Proven coursing full hound bitch, won on the track and qualified for open coursing finals in clonmel but got injured. Won alot of money, has been tried and tested in the field since injury. Already produced very decent lurchers. Sire is a well built german dog that is shot over alot and brought out when shooting deer. Very driven and strong dog. Litter was bred as a trial to keep a couple of pups back to see how this cross perform. Few pups left cheap if anyone fancys somthing different. Should make very decent fox dogs. A friend of mine bred them and asked me to stick them up here for him.
  2. Thats a good deal.... Swap a worker to gain a possible worker.... Thats a win win lol!!!
  3. Thats a smashing area, id know that area and its fantastic.
  4. 100% correct. And when they arrested them alot more lads were dragged into it from videos and pictures on there phones that were taken when they were lifted..... That case is going to be a big one!!
  5. If facebook was used as its described to be "a social media network" then it would be great, great way to keep in contact with friends/family in other countries for free. But like everything you get the usual apes that use it as a public cock measuring tool and post rediculus pictures of dogs/game and others reply to the pics with comments that are as bad if not worse.... 90% of dog seizures, bans and investigations are brought about by the very ones that put up the pictures and videos. Not to mention how is tars the rest of us that work dogs. Then you also have the massive element of cyber bu
  6. Yea it seems the best of what i what ive looked into so far, the sand is added after you roll on the resin to add grip, i wont be puttin any grip on it. Hopefully with the fall ive put on the floors there will be no puddles, it should run off as soon as it leaves the dog!!! Lol,
  7. Yes mate mine drop in, most of the smaller beagles ive kept will push up as far as they can aswell, i always run a collored up terrier with the rest, i do have to be selective where i let the terriers draw with the rest but 90% of the time if charlie is pushed hard enough inside and doesn't want to leave or coursed outside and missed its a case of get the shovels cause the terrier will be on below.
  8. Im in the middle of new runs myself and have tried alot of different products and paints on my old ones, power washing couple of times a week soon tested most of them and most failed. Ive been in contact with a guy from watco, im going with one of there products for my new pens, its a non slip epoxy resin and he guarenteed me its ideal for the job, here is the reply i got back and a link to the product. Thank you for your email regarding your dog runs. I would suggest the following: 1. Lay a new concrete (not a self-levelling compound as they are not durable enough and a paint w
  9. What i mean by the fen type saluki cross are exactly how i see them, bred for lasting rather than outright speed. Never witnessed any running on yer fens but from looking at clips lads put up i dont think they are compairable speed wise to what lads use on smaller rougher land in ire, i know you've ran dogs over here so thats why i asked your opinion, your in a better position to comment than me, If a dog where i hunt here isn't up his ass pronto he is gone! In ireland yes there are some greyhounds tried tested and worked on game.
  10. All I meant is that pups bred from a pure MIGHT be found wanting. The way I see it, why have a pup that is only 50% tested blood in it's background, when you can have a pup that has 100% tested background. Just my take on it. We all have our own ideas.... Best of both worlds, to get 100% working blood in a genuine first cross use a well tested greyhound! Out of curiosity jonathan and i dont know the answer but do you think or maybe know if the offspring off a fenn type saluki hybred to a lurcher would be as quick as those pups off a well worked and competed greyhound over the same lurcher??

  12. so does that mean she now needs some greyhound adding ? nothing personal just stating fact that there is greyhound within its not rocket science Audi vw skoda all youse the same engine metaphors And seat!!!
  13. But i dont agree that generation bred lurchers will gradually be getting slower, i think it was said earlier in this thread that its a basic first year of keeping lurchers fact.... Im in disagreement!!! Lurcher x lurcher as many times as you want and the difference in speeds will vary in every litter but imo not consistantly drop.
  14. The irish have a bit of a better chance of getting decent greyhounds than most others in my opinion, due to the fact that alot of our coursing greyhounds are brought up and kept fit out in the fields. I have no major qualms about breeding from a good coursing grey bitch or dog. Ive a wheaten pup here at the minute off a decent pure bred bitch that ran in clonmel and bred decent working lurchers previously. Its all down to what a lad is looking to get out of his dogs i suppose. Likewise ive a lurcher x lurcher with saluki in her for a job aswell. Horses for courses!!
  15. All the reports are of a good day jonny fair play, well done to gavin for the best in show aswell!!
  16. Jees id have presumed they were gone back to practically pure beddys at this stage!!! Lol
  17. im finding it hard to understand what your saying aswell socks!! so what your saying is if collie x grey for example to collie x grey to collie x grey and so on and so forth for several generations, after 20 years of this breeding the running dog(greyhound) blood is so diluted they look and run more like collies and each generation will be slower????? why is it the grey side that disappears, why doesn't the collie blood in them dilute and they get faster?????? lol.
  18. Pmsl, im only having a mess, never saw a trailer thats wider than it is long, just looks wrong!!! There will be sombody there for it tho, handy to a lad with a job for it. Atb with the sale,
  19. Where is the other half of it??
  20. Just put the torch in its pouch, bubble wrap the hell out of it, put it in a small cardboard box and book dhl online to pick it up and send it to there address. Put return for repair and fragile glass contents on a big label on it. Just wait for them to return it then! I wouldn't send the batts with it, it will be more expensive to ship will lithium batts in it.
  21. Lol roy, her english isn't her strongest roy is it!!!
  22. the breeder musn't be that bad if your bitches brother is competing to that level and winning in fairness.... must be doing somthing right!! fair play for taking her on out of the pound.
  23. good man, ive used donal a couple of times. very handy service to have access to. all the best in your new venture,
  24. If the jumped up little shit thats 18 or 19 and on the buildings a wet week was walking down the road holding hands with his "bird" and a lad came out of a site and went into his lady friends face and said "mornin love" i wonder how he'd react..... Probably not as cocky when he is off his own patch with an audience but inside im sure he wouldn't be impressed.... Class clown springs to mind!!
