  1. Raynardman, did you look at the bit of a tail to see was it amputated or natural looking ?Maybe it's the photo but to me that fox looks a little short coupled and a little short in the leg too. It would be interesting to know if it was born like that or bobbed by accident. Was he moving properly before you shot the poor divil ? LOL. Didn't inspect it closely but it was like a dogs dock, healed with the fur grown back over Have to agree with Neil Cooney on that fox, he is weirdly proportioned, big skull, short but big body, little short legs.... Looks like a midget, lol
  2. Ffs lads, this is supposed to be be a site for similar minded lads, there are thousands of members and nobody is offering to give the bloke a hand to get his dogs back. Maybe if you said you were a milwall supporter or something the lunatics might be more eager to offer assistance. Yes times are changing and so are the people, but it seems the general consensis is to let robbing scum carry on and then try pussy foot about them to get back what's rightly yours but wrongfully taken away from you. Any man about that I know of that had dogs taken by travellers and knew roughly the location they we
  3. Not sure about that. The brother works at the airport and they have to scare buzzards off the runways most days. See a lot around the M50 too I'm not saying there is none killbilly but give it a few years until the numbers rise and I bet a pound to a penny the hare numbers will be effected.
  4. Dublin airport is rotten with them!! I put a topic up here a few years back about them. I was flying Dublin to London weekly and couldn't count the amounts of em I'm see when taking off and landing! I bet there ain't many buzzards up around there because if it was anything like around me they would clear the place of everything!! Fookers are everywhere around here pheasants and hare numbers are dropping big style and buzzard numbers seem to be goin up pretty quickly.
  5. I have an m595 and love it. Build quality is super and very smooth action. When I went enquiring about the same question as you now I was told by many that the m was a superior gun and more sought after.
  6. If your wanting to bulk up the pack to hunt the bigger places just give the nod!! 16 more beagles should up the stakes on the bigger spots and I'd be over in a flash, could do with a weekend away and all!!
  7. . Looks swollen and bruised keep the infection at bay atavism or synulos brod based antibiotic a short course will suffic failing that clip the nail back through the quick let it bleed out nails look long atb bunnys.Cheers mate, after it happened I could manipulate the toe and feel the break. The damage is back on the next joint back from the small wound and not on the joint the wound is on. It was pointing upwards but since it swelled it has brought it back down. The cut is shag all, just a graze from whatever he knocked the toe off. He's on synulux tabs and oxytetrcycline since an hour afte
  8. Well trust me mate it is well and truly broke!
  9. Cheers for the advice mate, it won't do any further damage to bandage it up I suppose so that's what I'll do. I will ring vets in to morn and enquirer about an x-ray. Taking bits and pieces from all of yer advice I think we will try bandage it, get an x-ray to show extend of the damage, then keep bandaged and leave him be for 8 weeks and hope for the best....
  10. The money isn't really an issue mate, well within reason anyway, But I think I'd like to try sort him with the toe on and see how it goes. Is it guaranteed to go again or just very likely to go do you think?
  11. Many thanks tote, That's the reply I was hoping to get! Getting the toe off would be my last resort I think, once it's gone it's gone!! I've seen some very impressive greyhounds come back to former glory after toe amputations, one in particular had one off on each front foot and went on to win pretty decent prize money and sold for 25k after winning out a stake. Could be totally wrong but I think the twisting and turning of a lurcher would be more testing on the feet than a grey running pretty much a straight line. if it goes again after proper rest and time off then I may have to reconside
  12. Cheers bill, It's a sickner, dog had his first season last year and done extremely well, I wouldn't mind if he missed all of this one if I thought he would be back to normal for next year. I just want to do the best I can with him now before it's too late and not look back in time and say I should have done x y or z with him!! Would putting a splint on help to hold it in place while its setting be any use?
  13. As the title says lads my good young wheaten dog broke a toe last night. It's his front right paw, third toe in, second joint back from the nail. I've never had a running dog break a toe before but I had a feeling from a pup this lad could have feet trouble because he is very flat footed. I've spoken to a lot of greyhound men today and each has a different opinion, some say remove the toe, more say pin fire it, and others say leave it be and just stand him in for 6-8 weeks. I'm looking for experienced opinions on this please lads, from lads who had it happen, what treatment and what were
  14. Yes mate, going to go black powder coat over galvanised bars. I'm half way through making them up. Hard to get time for your own work!! If my explanation makes sence then there will be a gate at each side of the small stub walls with the white capping, then a railing over the stubby wall in between the two gates. There will be divisions running from the back of each red brick pier to the back wall and in the middle of the stubby walls. So each arch has two runs 14feet by 6feet and a gate hanging off each pier..... cant wait to see it finished. Neither can I mate, it's a ball breaker!!!

  16. A setup I'm in the middle of. Another couple of weeks and I'll have the fronts, gates, divides and boxes in.
  17. Sort krawnden, only just seeing this now, I'll have to root some out of him,
  18. We hunt a pack of beagles and have a beagle springer running with them, he is a serious little dog. I've always kept the beagle springer cross as they are exceptional in tight briars and very mannerly. Tried a couple of terrier beagle crosses but didn't have the same time for them as the springer cross. Late in a days hunting when the beagles are tiring we depend greatly on the springer cross to bring the rest into tight spots, just point and tell him get in and he'll push his way through. He will hunt with the pack and leave cover but won't go on very far, 4 or 5 fields and he will leave the
  19. Make the base level with the layer of hardcore mate, the subsoil doesn't need to be level. And yes, the soil doesn't need to be whacked, if it's ground that has been there and settled for years it will be fine to hardcore over and build your pad on.
  20. How do you confuse a Kerry man??? Show him 3 shovels and tell him take his pick!!!!
  21. Not just a pretty face, as good as a spaniel to retrieve shot game! Hope the old boy is doing well snoop.
  22. The further you go down the more hardcore you will have to use to bring it back up above ground level. One the ground is solid it should be fine. Secondly save yourself the hardship of mixing it, unless your getting the gravel and cement for free it doesn't pay to use a mixer for big areas. By the time you have the last barrow load in the first one wil be gone off!!
