    That dog in my eyes is a liability. Why train them to hide and let somebody in??? A dog barking at the sight of a stranger will be enough to make them walk on by and 99% of the time no harm will be done. God forbid an innocent person ever happens to enter blissfully unaware of your hiding killer then that's a situation that could have a horrible outcome.

    Ahh sleeve this and commands me arse!! Lol. I had a mate over this evening and after reading this I told him to pick up the shovel and make a run at the bitch tied in the corner, she has never had anyone run at her with a shovel but she swept it off him as soon as he raised it to her and the cute bitch left slack on the chain so she could gain a bit of ground as he came closer... Another foot and he was in trouble!! They either have a hatred for strangers or they don't.     There is only only one way to sort the kennel fighting, we went through a spell of hell with the same crack a few years back, we culled two hounds wrongly thinking they were the reason for the fighting but it wasn't until we put a camera in the kennels that we found the culprit! And funnily enough it wasn't one that we would have ever pointed the finger at, come September it will sort itself out and hunting will cure all head aches!!

    I've a black Shepard bitch and she's a demon to guard. After being paid a couple of visits and dogs lifted I said I'd have to give one a try. Up until 24 months she was worse than useless, if she hadn't shown so much enthusiasm for hunting she would have been long gone. From walking with the rest of the crew everyday she became a very clever bittch to hunt and surprised a few that saw her out on strolls!! Once she hit 24 months the penny dropped and a mouse wouldn't move in the yard without her knowing. I wouldn't fancy being a stranger facing her!! (Or a fox for that matter)!! Lol s909

    Borders I keep are around 12tts for bitches and 13tts for dogs with few exceptions. Both dogs and bitches tend to be easy spanable. Meg is 12 tts. I reakon this pup will make 13tts give or take 1\4 inch and turn out to be like a pea in a pod to a cracking dog out his line a good friend has. . . Atb They are an ideal size so. I'd love to try them but they are like rocking horse shit over here unfortunately! Keep us posted on the pups progress please mate. I'm sure there will be more pups in the future if yer line is producing the goods. Have you any pics of any mature dogs from the line

    Cracking pup fieldsporthunter. Just out of curiosity what height should he come to? Are the parents big or handy? Always liked the border but not seen a full one in years and the ones I have seen were pretty sizey.

    do u go to the vet for that as that's my first choice but vet near me do drontal I get milbemax, drontal and advocate from the vets. I pay over the odds but it's hardly gonna break the bank worming every 3-4 months. Used cheap wormers before and no worms came out until I used genuine wormers, may have been coincidence but I just haven't got the confidence in them. Workers work differently mate, some make them pass balls of dead worms, more make the worms release there hold on the dogs intestines and they pass them live and others break down the worms and are digested and not noticed in stoo

    I'm using biheldon the last 7 or 8 years. I didn't check the links ye put up but at that price I'm presuming it's biheldon ye are talking about. They are spot on. Just got delivery of another 600 of them Belgium yesterday. Cheapest wormer about.

I gave a loan of a super little teagle bitch down to a friend of a friend in cork to get his pack of young springer beagles going but she apparently had an accident to ground and never returned to me!! So im weary of cute cork whures after that!!! Lol. No problem with a service tho if ye have a decent bitch.

Just out of curiosity im asking, i dont think i can say there is any difference in there personalitys, they all rough each other up and give and take!

    What do ye think are the percentages of the runt makin as good if not better worker than the bigger stronger pups on a litter? The mother of these was the runt but turned out as good if not better than her Litter mates.

    Im not a million miles away from you mate, ive a 3/4 springer 1/4 beagle thats about 8 now, very decent dog. He has been running with the beagles the last 6 seasons and often the first to find and open. If you have access to a bitch ill give you a free service. I know from the amount of lads asking us for the same thing your after that the chances of getting a good one are slim!! He has bred pups that are working very well. Just an option for ya if you dont get sorted.

    Interesting theory fox dropper, something I can't comment on. At 6 weeks there doesn't appear to be any obvious effects of bullying. They all give as good as they get and are very evenly matched.     Yea he lost his son Peter, or "tiffer" as he was know as, got carbon monoxide poisoning while he traveling. Delighted for all the team, know them all personally. My brother in law shod ruled the world during the week! Great win for the yard.

    Oh lord!!! It's actually not worth the effort replying! I never knocked either foxhound packs or harrier packs. To me harriers are the better of the two, personal opinion, ive dug for packs of both and got more digging over the harriers. My original post was to let you know that not all beagles hunt squirrels, only as you say "a fool" would make such a stupid generalisation. The pack of harriers i ran with were mainly a young pack and first season hounds, i stated that in the original post if you read it correctly.     Look up the oringis of the breed mate.... And by all accounts your famous foxhounds already have beagle in them so no more needs to be added!! Quick google search will give them results. The man that hunts the harrier pack is no fool, he's known and respect as a top huntsman up and down the country! if running a few our our faster beagles with his harriers was more of a hinderance than a help then it wouldn't have happened!!
