  1. I also think people over estimate/dramatise how much cats kill, had cats for over 20 yrs and none of them have been prolific bird killers. I've one here which has had a massive............ "1" bird so far this year.
  2. Thank you. To be honest i am not fussed if they do breed or not, but i want to try to get it as right as i can, so if they decide they are going to breed they can
  3. Ok thank you very much
  4. Thank you The terrier needs stripping so i'll have a nice lump of wire hair for her Can the bigger cage wait till the chicks are older before they leave the nest?
  5. I've chosen a cock based purely on his size, he is the one nearest in size to her (rest are bigger) If she had already decided who she was paired with herself i do not have the foggiest? Sorted this cage out for them.... Does everything look ok? Picked moss from the walls, put it in the bottom of the cage with some dried grass, got small fluffy hen feathers, shredded loo paper and coconut hair type stuff in the nest pan. Is there anything i am doing wrong, or still have to do please?
  6. Not all cuts and tears need stitching, depending upon where it is etc. As long as they are properly cleaned initially and the dog rested, most of the time they can be left alone for nature to heal. Most people are far too quick to rush to the vet or try DIY I personally never mess with antibiotics, if i need any i get to the vets, too many people messing about with something they know nothing about, wont be long before we have MRSA/Clostridium difficile's of the dog world.
  7. Thanks folks. Was not supposed to be one hen with 4 cocks but every bleedin hen i bought turned into a cock Would a budgie type cage be ok to keep a pair in, and would it be ok in the house or should i hang it in the aviary....do i put a nest pan in it or something on the floor of the cage? Bunnys..... I do the hens with frontline for red mite, would frontline on a cotton bud be ok?
  8. The back of my canary hen's head is bald, will this be due to the cocks treading her? She is in with 4 cock birds, so should i move her into a cage with one cock? If so will the move prevent her from breeding?
  9. That's not even one of your best Trev...put a link to your website up

  17. We have just started off local. First job is a graveyard in a rural village. I am doing it for no initial charge and £5 per mole (the going rate here)...just because it is an old lady who asked, not much money in the church funds etc etc. So far we have covered 73 miles for £10 Next job is at the castle on my lamping/bushing land, again no charge but £5 per mole. I visit this place at least weekly it is really close to my home for rabbiting so no problem with fuel costs. My reason for doing this... word of mouth, the church yard was on the recommendation from the lady at the castl
  18. Brilliant, i had thought about it, as mine are kept in with poultry, when i dig the soil over in the run there is loads of sprouting stuff, from the canary seed and hen food. So it will be ok to do it in trays of soil then. Surely that would be much easier than all this soaking and rinsing and bleach
