  1. I presume from that you knew the dog for a while before you got him? Diet related problems don't always show themselves immediately, it can take a while before the body gets sick of poor nutrition or allergic reaction I have a terrier bitch here, was fine for years then about a year after i moved here suddenly developed bald patches, always scratching. Turns out she is allergic to harvest mite, it did not show itself till i moved onto a farm where of course she is constantly in barns.
  2. Would not think anyone has 'baiting dogs', do you mean drawing dogs?
  3. Shit, hadn't thought of that
  4. Superb Fancy coming and doing my hen coops so they blend into the garden more
  5. With any bator i would recommend you getting an additional hygrometer/thermometer for inside the bator. What the incubator says it is and what it actually is can be totally different. The room you keep it in, type of heating, electrical appliances, time of year/weather etc etc can all effect it. I've heard good reports about Rcoms.
  6. "A peculiar virtue in wildlife ethics is that the hunter ordinarily has no gallery to applaud or disapprove of his conduct. Whatever his acts, they are dictated by his own conscience, rather than by a mob of onlookers. It is difficult to exaggerate the importance of this fact."

  7. Whippets are suited very much to being a house dog, very affectionate and cuddly, but an entertaining joker at the same time. They can curl up tighter than a cat so take up very little room. I've found and from what i have read, perhaps dogs are more so than bitches whippet bitches can be a bit more headstrong, independent? I have no experience of beddy/whippets at all, but would surmise the added terrier would make it more hyper in the house?
  8. moll. i completely agree with you mate, you have no idea how hard i have tried/still trying to get weight off of her, i have cut her feed by half, she gets the same excercise as the blue/tan one and a little more than her, no matter what ive tried she just wont drop enough weight for my liking! she is 30kg and 25tts 3 in july but never broke down if this may have something to do with it, im running out of ideas? Morning RM. All dogs are different, some need more food than others, some exercise more than others on the same walk, what are you feeding her? I would say to reduce it agai
  9. I've the mini advance.... http://www.brinsea.com/products/mini.html To be honest i only use it as a temp brooder, i cannot keep the humidity exact enough for the breed i hatch, Serama (b*****ds to hatch) i have heard good reports from other who have used it though. Use it for 12 bantam eggs or 7 normal sized. You cannot get the Octagon in any smaller than a 20. Forgot to say temp is easily controlled
  10. Lovely pics, makes you think of summer just around the corner Just a little advise, please dont take this to heart. Try to get some weight off the white/red dog, be much healthier in the long run you can
  11. Thank you very much everyone, he is my pride and joy
  12. I use this and rate it very highly. Expensive but well worth the money I only use it occasionally, if i forgot to defrost the meat etc. I also put just a handful in with their meat occasionally, one bitch never looked good on raw alone, poor coat, and condition. I added a small handful of the Eukanuba to her meat and she went back to brill.
  13. Can't go wrong with Brinsea Artic. Reasonably priced and their after sales service is superb. Got the old Octagon 20's, a mini advance and recently bought an Octagon Advance with humidity pump....so easy and has improved my hatch rates no end. http://www.brinsea.com/products/octagon20A.html
  14. Thanks Hully....how are your lot doing? Thank you Mfl. He is 25" A few rats and rabbits Chimp
  15. He's still a little sly git malt A tad out of condition, not fitness wise but had Steve feeding him too much whilst i was out of action
  16. Some updated pics, taken today. Rudie is now 2 yrs old and Boo 3 yrs next month. A favourite sport....terrier coursing!
  17. There should be a law passed, women should only be allowed to have lap dogs
  18. Stunning dogs on this thread I've personally found most 1st generation, 1st x's to be quite racey. You will get some pups thrown to the bull side but % wise i think they tend to throw 50% each breed.
  19. I also bet most of them would jump at the chance if given one. Nowt like the green eyed monster for bringing out the worst in people
  20. Vary it for the poor beggers. Mine get mixed corn, chick crumbs, canary seed, wild bird seed and Garvo quail food. Make sure you give them greens they can demolish an ice berg lettuce in minutes
  21. Amazing how parts of such a small country differ. Only bulbs out up here are snowdrops, toads etc just started calling, and the grass is still stock still.
