  1. Bloody foreigners Undies is short for underpants...what MEN wear. Women wear knickers Anyway, i had to burn them camo's after you wore them
  2. Spot on. You are going in the right direction by the sounds of it, getting his training right before working him again. Some young keen dogs will yap initially, some mature dogs even do it after a long lay off, nothing to worry about at the mo as long as he does not start singing his heart out each time. If i were you i would wait till the summer is over, just work on his training, then get him out somewhere that holds a good load in Aug/Sept time for the young naive rabbits. Once he has had a few he should start to calm down as the night progresses, he will be too tired to think about yapping
  3. All depends on the dogs maturity (Mentally and physically) If you feel he is ready get him some really easy rabbits December time through the day, once he has had a few and is doing what you want ie;- retrieving, good recall then try him on a few runs on the lamp, just about 6 ish then retire on a catch. Wait a fortnight or so then try again. Remember..... slowly, slowy catchy monkey when pups, what you do with him at the start will follow on through his adult working life Personally i would not have him out with older dogs, can just lead to frustration which could lead to yapping and misb
  4. I can honestly say i dont wear undies either
  5. Thinking of your poor wife again Jiggy, cos i doubt you'd be the one washing your undies
  6. Your poor wife No, spiders big or small don't bother me, but if i knew it was venomous i would probably beat you all the way to the ambulance I should that if a spider that big turned up at yours, it would be injured or in some way needing help. It would have received information on the woodland telegraph that yours was the place to go. It would take up residence next to that massive one on your roof and forever more be seen as a mascot and friend. Photos of it roosting on your tele wouldn't be out of the ordinary. Probably it would retrieve small mammals live to hand because it

  10. Big tough hunters, more like a load of girls
  11. Stupid man squashed the poor thing
  12. Some dogs will yap, some wont. If you want to try to encourage him to speak when chasing you need to get him really fired up and excited. Keep him on the lead at places you know there will be rabbits out, let him see them but not get at them, he will probably go berserk on the end of the lead wanting to chase, keep him on till he starts to yap, then release him (use some sort of hunt up command at the same time). The rabbits will have probably bolted by now but he will have seen where they went and it will help him to use his nose to find them again. The places you said he comes back out f
  13. Gutted i was not able to get. Hope you all had a brill day and the rain behaved.
  14. I also fast my dogs. A day of fasting is beneficial for dogs. Not only does it give it's system a chance to clean itself out but also time to rest. You do not feed extra to your dogs on the other 6 days, just feed as normal. I have done this for years now. Not unusual for hunting animals to go a day without food. I first read about it as a child in one of Buster Lloyd Jones books. http://www.denes.co....ets/fasting.php Thread about it recently... http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/187820-fasting-your-dogs-do-you-do-it/ Respect to you Paid, wish i ha

  17. Not really a great deal to see Sean. Remember he is normally a fit young lurcher. Spine now hidden, no muscle or bone definition. But you can easily feel it, feels like crinkly plastic paper under the skin. Vet informed me today it can be quite painful for the dog, the skin has been separated from the muscle etc underneath.
  18. any pics a yer glosters moll I can get you some but they look a bit silly, i cut their helmets you see, as they are not very good at flying in the aviary otherwise Found an older photo of the cocky bird, with his hair cut ...
  19. He's at the vets now getting it stitched
  20. Decided to sit and watch for longer today, and i have identified 'Daddy' Watched as he stood on the edge of the nest pan, did not appear to feed the chicks, but when the hen came and sat on them, he fed her. She is a Gloster corona and he is a small bird mainly yellow with a greeny/brown patch on his back. Also have a really cute yellow Border type (husband still unknown) And a Gloster consort hen (Husband unknown) both sitting. The possible fathers are either... Yellow border, Corona Gloster or a red factor. Cannot wait to see what they turn out like

  24. Woooooo Wooooooo Got 4 chicks :yahoo: :clapping: Hen is doing a grand job, gets food, feeds them then sits on them for 5 mins, then repeats it again I've been a dug up chick weed, dandelions and a sod of grass with loads of soil around to keep it fresher for longer. Container with soaked egg food, and soaked canary seed as well as the normal dry seed...although she is preferring the dry seed? Cannot believe how teeny they are, are they born bald? These have bits of fuzz here and there. Will the cock help feed them, up to now none are? Should i give them boiled eggs, a
