  1. Where women are women and sheep are pregnant.
  2. I think you were spot on, did your best to diffuse the situation, acted like a responsible neighbour...something we all wish more people were like. Unfortunately they are not nice people, if i were you i would stop giving them the time of day now, no threats, no acting ignorant, just plain and simply ignore them. Familiarity breeds contempt
  3. Very true Artic, but you can also use the treadmill for the same thing. There are many different routes to the same destination, people have to take the one which suits them and their dogs
  4. For the 100th time! Treadmills are not a replacement for walks, they are an additional form of conditioning a dog. Quite the opposite to being lazy, as when used properly not only are you walking the dogs as normal but having to spend more time watching the dogs on the mill, and working out training programmes etc.

  7. It's been prevalent in Ashington for several years now Bear
  8. Wish i was old enough to be able to participate in this thread :nea:
  9. I whole heartedly agree with deed not breed....but what would be covered by 'deed' what would they class as out of control? Thinking again along the lines of working dogs. You are out for a walk with your dog, dogs off the lead all well behaved listening to and obeying commands. Another animal jumps up, your dogs take off after it, dogs now deaf to all commands. Your dogs are now 'out of control'....for the majority of us anyway, unless you are lucky enough to have a dog you can recall off prey. So now, not only can they prosecute you for breaking the hunting act, but also for having an o
  10. Imo it is a way for them to be able to control ANY dog. Anyone's dog can be investigated if 'someone thinks' it to be dangerous. A very dangerous law for working dog owners imo.
  11. Yep, you never hear of an anti protesting against rat poison either...another slow painfull way for an animal to die.
  12. 11.5 yrs, hunts up with the younger dogs, and still loves her ratting.
  13. Whippets are mainly a rabbit dog, yes some can take other quarry but...................... if you have respect for your quarry, get a dog which can catch/kill quickly.

  15. mine must be a Rambo strain then Seriously though, aggression amongst quail is very common
  16. Thanks or posting this girl Sorry it is not your dog rwb41959 An all brown saluki lurcher, no feathering, but a lovely really thick coat. Absolutely terrified, looked exhausted, anyone who tried to catch her she ran in the opposite direction. I got out with Boo to see if another dog would lure her but no joy. Steve Parked in a layby and went running down the A1 with Boo but she was too scared. A lovely motorcycle man from the highways dep pulled into the layby behind me whilst Steve was off trying to catch her. Informed me that if i did not get the car removed from the layby immed
  17. Don't do it Seriously they are horrible to keep. You have to keep them in small groups with one cock, even then the hens may try to kill each other and the cocks if it takes their fancy. They eat mountains of food, (costs a fortune) and produce mountains of waste. If there is a way they can kill themselves, they will find it Outdoors with shelter in the summer but in the real cold winter you would have to keep them indoors/ in a shed. You cannot let them free range, they will disappear, so would have to be in an enclosure with a roof. They are good layers though, usually an egg a day w
