  1. Being able to adjust the power was one of the main reasons I went for the s510 but to be honest I rarely use it on anything other than full power as its used mostly for stalking ,it's a little awkward in a small hide which is why I bought this little one Happy hide shooting?
  2. Well done lads and with a proper net too?
  3. This will stop em running down the hedge when it's finished hope all you 'real netters ' are well
  4. Yes Rimfireboy it is 177 fac and heavy pellets at top power are needed , the most accurate are crossman premier 10.5 gr spits them out at 21ftlb .I've tried allsorts through it, others have come close but it's the premier's that come out on top. If I turn the power down its not so fussy, but I know where I'm at with this combination it's a little bit too much for squirrels from a feeder that's only 25yrds away but comes in really handy for those slightly longer thread through the branches shots ?
  5. I've eaten plenty mate unfortunately my misses is not so taken by the idea so what my ferrets don't eat I put out for for the crows and magpies although I think the buzzards and red kites are taking most of them, Had another couple this evening
  6. my preverd method if I'm honest but when they get a bit jittery as they are in one of the woods I'm shooting then you can't beat sitting near a feeder which I'm doing in the morning ? well done smithie I think you should do more of it
  7. Lovely morning to be out, unfortunately couldn't make it for first light would've been a perfect morning to be set up at a feeder bright sunshine and no wind, so had to make do with some challenging stalking conditions with frozen leaves underfoot but managed five stalking towards feeders plus one back at the truck after I had packed everything away,I had just shut the door of the truck when I spotted him sat up in an oak tree looking straight at me flicking his tail at me so back out with the rifle and at approximately 20 yards he didn't stand a chance that took the total to six, I've planne
  8. I'm with you Mr Wilkes , my better bags have been in the morning's but I've only been able to get the last hour but I feel a morning session is needed in the wood I checked this evening as I only filled the feeders in this wood Sunday morning and they've cleaned them out! Although this one wont be back
  9. Last hour or first hour of day light ? I can't decide which is best but it's been the last hour which has proved fruitful the last couple of days , Shot four yesterday and another four today, When I arrived today i could see the feeder was empty on my approach but noticed two squirrels in the area so quietly got in my hide ,it wasn't long before one of them made his way over he checked the feeder first realised it was empty and made for the pheasant feeder near by which is where I took the shot ,first one in the bag ,next one was a bit more of a test approximately 35yards with only i
  10. Cheers for replies , I'm looking into part ex , and I also think them stocks look a bit Shiite to be honest I might just keep the s510 and get a second rifle , the fx wildcat in .25 looks interesting
  11. Cheers for the replies , had an hour out this afternoon and managed another 4 squirrels from a different wood (no pics I'm afraid) But saw at least 6 others so will be back to sort them another day, Oh the gun is a Air Arms S510 extra 177 and I use marksman premier 10.5gr pellets
  12. All this talk about just being out with the nets has got me thinking , I really should sort my net's out and make the effort after all it took me a lot of time making them
  13. It was a great morning , as far as getting the coloured one stuffed they are not that special around this area so it ended up as ferret food like most of them
  14. Hi fellow squirrel shooters , I've been a bit busy with them since the new year , had a bit of a year off from shooting in general the year before but I've been making up for it since My total to date this year is 48 , I was hoping to celebrate my first post with a 50 but I missed three this morning ? due to the windy conditions still managed 4 squirrels and a pigeon ? The only pic I have is of my first outing of the year
  15. I'm thinking of getting one has anybody on here tried one? Many thanks plugster
