  1. won't it be slippery outside ? depends what tiles you use. won't it be slippery outside ? depends what tiles you use. what tiles would you use ? and why tiles over slabs ? Not sure what the correct name for them is, but the use them on patio's and outdoor swimming pools. They are rough, sandpaper like, dont need sealing and will not degrade either. Mate of mine put some down on his patio and they strike me as being perfect for a dog run.

  3. Yes on the whole the Alsatians are far always more steadier and easier to keep and maintain, the drive in say the mallsand dutchies can be far to much for lots of the lurcher handlers ,one needs to be able to switch off from the behaviour at times . Some just Cana handle this atb bunnys.thanks for the reply. I like the idea of these highly driven dogs but in reality I don't think I would have the head or the time for a Dutch or malli. And that is why I have just walked away from a first pick of a litter of Mal x's. They tick too many boxes!
  4. Some of the new additions to the millies wolfheart range have a higher energy content (fat and some carbs) which is pretty much on the button, when we hit mid season and dogs need that extra, without massively adding volume.
  5. SImpson's premium is also of the same quality, as is much, if not all of the Millies Wolfheart range.

  7. Some of the "new generation" dog foods are a world away from the majority of the crap that's been sold in the past.
  8. Mustard on rabbits. They lay over the warrens and suffocate the buggers.

  12. end of the day there all herding dogs , that are over sensitive that think to much lolYou ever thought of you who is the problem with collie xs and not the dogs? I've seen plenty of collie x mutts working to a high standard without being over sensitive and thinking to much.. But they were owned by owners who knew how to understand the dogs and get the best out of a mutt yes it me deff mate , i just dont gel with them , we all different in our own little ways . Funny old dogs collies are. Pures have often driven me to tears at times, And I will never have another. But lurchers b
  13. Small. Welsh. And gene pool. Not three words I every expected to see you associated with Ken.
  14. IMO, Writing wise "Scooby" was Darcy's best, as it had a personal touch. Photograpically, the hare and the swift hound was excellent, but was equalled by dogs and deer due to its better writing. The lamping book didn't work for me. No chapters. No real thread. But an obvious labour of love.
  15. The further from whistle controlled collies we get, the better it would be for breeding a lurcher from. Some of them Welsh collies bring a lot to the table. Especially if they are used to shifting cattle as well as sheep.
  16. That's docile as f**k compared to my red bitch Thats no way to talk about your lass!

  18. My kind of dog is Don. In fact i'm off to look at something similar this week hopefully work out for you. Hopefully he will pass his traits on when he lines my bitch swift. She should of broke over the summer but never. Typical.Toughness, hard, Reliable, honest... There the traits that made up for that missing top gear he never had. Swift would be a fine choice. But remember, breed close and cull hard. But I'm sure dont need me to tell you that.
