  1. I decided on a dog this time. My last lurcher was a bitch and we had a massive bond. I can honestly say I have not bonded properly with this dog. He is a lot bolder/independent and tests my patience but at the same time he's a good worker and I couldn't ask anymore from him when we are out or as a pet around the house. I think about it a lot and just don't know why we haven't bonded like my other dogs. Hoping we might be mates soon!! I'm thinking he's still being a stroppy teenager or maybe it's the fact he's 1/4 saluki!! Either way he has a home for life.
  2. I'm not surprised the rabbit give up. I would if I seen that lump running towards me!! She done well mate and will start to find her feet now.
  3. It doesn't hurt to go out and have a laugh every now and then Phil. Think the rabbits were laughing at us at one point!
  4. Here's the pic I took of him joe.
  5. He was steady enough around the ferrets on Monday Joe. Great looking dog and that's why I put the post up. Put some pick up of him!
  6. Brill day out and full of good banter. Maybe someone else can write the next one.....I have noticed that Kev is good at dishing.
  7. Well done and looks like a good trip out. Like the look of zig. Same down here in Devon. Brambles are still high and still plenty of nettles!! We have had a couple of trips out and it's been warm. ATB
  8. They look and sound just the job. I would be looking at a first x I think.
  9. Cheers chris. Just found out that's who I was out with. Small world!! Yep he's a cracking looking dog.
  10. Was out ferreting yesterday and a friend of a friend brought along a cocker x patterdale. He looked a cracking little dog and was steady enough around the ferrets and other dogs. Does anyone on here work them? Having seen this dog/cross it is definitely a cross I would like to look into more ready for when I want a busher. Any pics appreciated. ATB.
  11. Great looking pups. Second one down looks a bruiser!! What mix are they?
  12. Wound dressing, small capsule of saline fluid, roll of vet wrap and some tape. Basic but pretty much all you need until I can get back to the motor or to home. No point having anything in there you don't know how to use!! Also carry a set of decent pliers as this helps to deal with the cause (wire/large splinters) before doing the treatment. ATB
  13. I have been out a couple of times with this dog. He's definitely changed the way I thought of a bull x. Cracking dog.
  14. Have seen these pups a few times and they have wanted for nothing. Proper job!! Right......now that they are gone is there any chance we can get out ferreting?!
  15. Kev I think there's a small amount of Tiranasourous Rex in her too!
  16. Just to point out.....I fell backwards because I'm the one humping all the kit and our catch!! It f*#$^ng hurt getting hit full pelt be a 24" lump too. Thought I was back on the rugby pitch. Main thing is it was a cracking night and the dogs ran well.
  17. Here's his brother. Hope your as happy with your pot licker as I am with mine joe?? Good news your bitch is on the mend.
  18. Well done lads. Good to see how glen is doing. I have his brother!! Good write up. ATB

  21. Popped in to see snifferboy last night. These pups are little crackers. Such an even litter and are certainly getting the best start in life.
  22. Well done Willow! Catch up soon. Not visiting until they are all spoken for......just in case
  23. A specialist in one part of the country might only be average in another. Some dogs just don't get the numbers in front of them because the land they hunt on doesn't hold them. These dogs will have to work hard, use their nose, hunt up to catch (in the day) at night they might only have a couple of runs but catch a small number that some dogs that have lots of game put in front of them might miss. I was out where I live now and my dog catches quite a few. If I take him to where I'm originally from then he's lucky to get a few runs. If I brought one of the lads dogs from up there down here and
