    Just started using the shredded wax paper this past month ...dogs seem to like it. Heat lamp when needed .

    Seems a tad unfair on the bitch to me being rehomed at such age ...fairytale endings where a retired couple take on a rescue lurcher and it lives out the rest of it's days cosey by the fire are few and far between imo ...so i agree with hotmeat ...make space at home if she means so much to you ..or do the right thing by her ? I wouldnt offer her up free of charge on here where she could end up anywhere ... Atb though and good luck

    took my pup out last week had an invite from a lad with a 3 year old sal /grey that always runs doubled up and it looked to me the dog lacked a good strike but it was fast and is used to turning quarry and the slower dogs do the catching i guess ..not what im after in a lurcher especially as i only hunt rabbit.

    potential for collision and jealousy over catch ...also if your having to show it how to chase then it maybe that the pup isn't ready yet .. My last lurcher 3/4 collie grey was a slow starter compared to my current pup ..they are all different .You say you done ferreting? Take the pup

    Why not take the pup ferreting ? Let it hold a few in nets ..build it's confidence . Guaranteed success just you and the pup ...other lads may disagree but id never run a pup on the lamp doubled up on bunnies ..just find squatters and easy runs ...just enjoy the pup don't feel pressured to have the perfect lurcher by the time it's 12month ..atb with the pup

    had a ride up the dales this morning with steve.. pulled into the farm had a chat and away we went... no 4x4 anymore we had to walk a fair distance up onto high ground the lower flatter land is just sodden with all the recent rain... let the dogs loose Gwen and steves russells and started the climb ..by this time it was raining heavy so not a good start ...first couple we tried nothing.. then we had a couple of digs nice size healthy rabbits.. this was Gwens first time out with ferrets and she didn't disappoint me ..marked up well and behaved around the ferrets and sheep.. didn't mess with th
