    met up with steve again today 8am had a rake about just local over the road from my house... an old colliery site long gone now but a few rabbits about hidden away in cover ..we set off on the old disused railway line and the 4 terriers were quickly putting the heat on and the odd one or two were breaking cover and away to safety before Gwen had seen them... plenty about but this is rough ground on steep bankings and dykes neck high with nettles but the terriers kept at it and Gwen finally got run on one and made it count..i was on the right side of the cover for a change and the rabbit came

    I'll never understand folk crabbing other folks dogs full stop ....live and let live ..can understand why people prefer beddys or salukis than collies etc but not because the dog came from D H.? I had a 3/4bred dog out of kubla a couple year ago ...had him pts injured chasing so no telling how good he would become ...but he pleased me and thats all that mattered .... As for David hancock ..i found him helpful and honest ..he even advised me to get a half x than the 3/4 grey but id made up my mind .... Would i go back ? If i couldn't source a pup at that time ..then yes without doubt .. A

    Never been into showing dogs.....but taking pups along helps with socialisation....Jack and Cameron showed Iolo locally a few weeks ago.... Judge asked "what's in it"....... Pic 4.jpg Iolo & Cameron.jpg same happened to me at a friends show just after i got gwen ....i took her to socialize her and the judge said "what will you run her on ?" ha ha ... Im not a fan of the shows ...good job really lol

    you said ferreting though ? Dog soon learns that the action happens around you and the nets ...no need to hunt up...in the process dog begins to see you as the main focus as you provide the chance to chase .. Just my opinion ..good luck

    yes a lot down to terrain ...and also I like the collie temp.. these pups in theory are 3/8 grey 5/8 collie. so still plenty speed there for the bunnies im sure. I will lamp with her when she's ready but no rush will wait till she's 12 month or so.

    ha ha i wont tell him ..but looks don't mean owt mate . The little bitch on right is 11 and mother to the bitch in the middle x to a plummer called "monty " really good earth dog ..stayed at the job . ..both them bitches will work a fox and never enter to rabbit ..wheras the bitch you like ain't much cop as yet but only 2 ..     just back in had an hour out local with mate and his terriers... been doing a bit of bushing with the pup Gwen and these dogs lately and shes doing better than I could hope for at 8 months. she marks and goes in when needed and also patrols the exits ready for a bolt... well today she caught her first couple of healthy rabbits (she copped a myxi yesterday).. text book stuff today first one bolted and she grabbed it just as it slowed to re-enter cover. no retrieve as my terrier got there but Gwen held it and released it to me on command. well happy with that so on we went terriers entered cov
