    I have done this type of area before, the answer is having loads of helpers, dont try it on your own, we would put a longnet/s bothsides of the hedgerow, plus a few stop nets where possible through the hedge, then simply have two or three people standing either side of the hedge, try using just albino's or silvers as they are easier to spot

    maybe there just wasent any rabbits at home, you can normally tell as you'll hear rabbits drumming their back foot as a warning to others, very often we have ferreted warrens that showed all signs of rabbits, yet bolted none, yet other warrens that lookl disused have suprisingly had loads in...

    I think the reason alot of people get confussed with the mk3, is they simply try using it too soon when ferreting, if the ferret is moving, you'll get lights flashing and bleeps all over the place, the locator Is best left in your pocket, untill you havent seen the ferret/s at any holes for a good twenty minutes or longer, if a ferret has killed under, or got a rabbit/s in a dead end and is not moving, the mk3 is then so simply to use, anyone still not to sure, search utube for deben mk3, theres some good video of how to use it....
