  1. have a large patch of permission from the land management company "strutt & parker" near braintree, may be popping over there on the 13th of this month, anyone on here live within traveling distance, once Ive heard back from them as to the number of peeps I can take over there, I'll let ya know on a first pm'd, first asked basis
  2. what 11 fleas as stealthy say's, frontline, may be more expensive, but it does the job
  3. I would have said its a bit small, mines around 2ftx2ftx4ft but stranger things have happened, I suppose it depends how hungary the fox is, and how appetizing your bait is
  4. I thought it was a bit far fetched..... I mean.... a ginger haired kid with TWO!!! friends
  5. why instead, different tools for different jobs
  6. you dont mention her age, theres a big difference between a kit biting or a 2yr old
  7. just got in from work me.....
  8. I was given permission to copy this from another site member, think it says it all... Below is the reply i got from defra about releasing foxes. I have edited any names and personal information from it hopefully to protect myself and the person who replied to me, i will under no circumstances release these details either so don't ask. I take no responsibility for the content of this reply either. Thank you for your email of 2 April about releasing foxes. Although Defra would not condone the translocation of foxes, it is not illegal to move foxes from one location to another. Sec
  9. either drape some old sacking over it, or spray paint, greens/browns, mine has a lovely rust colour to it, no sorry, it is rust
  10. when feeding dry, I tend to put more than enough in, as youngsters need feeds throughout the day, rather than wolfing down as you have explained, Ive always found that if young are competing for food and wolfing it down, they then tend to take longer to teach not not finger bite, those that have access to dry 24/7 show no interest in fingers
  11. have a read through these pages http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index...t&p=1202195 may find it cheaper to buy ready made
  12. are you going to be ferreting all year, or just winter months, reason I ask, some people dont like using jills in season for ferreting, so if that were the case, Id suggest two hobs, yes trying to put two unknown hobs together would result in fights, but two hobs that have been kept together since birth may, as mine have, already know the pecking order and therefore have no need to fight, if your just going to ferret winter months, get a couple of jills, as long as you keep the cage/court clean and feed healthy diet then there is no need to worry straight away about bringing them out of seas
  13. not neccessarly, Ive got two hobs (brothers) two years old now, both intact, live together fine, no fighting
  14. thanks stubby, do you think he will go more silver as he gets older? only time will tell, as stated by others, Ive had a few like that, one hob has kept the colouring and gone more poley, others have moulted out to nearly look like black eyed whites
  15. check forum rules, they all need a price to stay here
  16. when watching them on iplayer, you notice they comment on taking it to a vet to be put to sleep, makes me think they dont have the means of a humaine dispatch, maybe why they release but I bet they charged a good price to catch it, in west london,
  17. its a plain old silver, some are more marked than others,
  18. urban foxes must be different, four catches and have never covered the mesh floor
  19. Ive always used a rabbit head to bait the trap, urban foxes, but after watching the rat pack on bbc1, am thinking of giving garlic sausage a go yesterdays catch although you cant see it from the picture, the shot entered from top of head and exited under jaw, as per picture
  20. you right lurcher lass, I think the program, no matter what they do, can only put light on the whole pest control/wildlife management thing, but something I learnt from an early age in retail, "the customer is always right" and that customer wanted the fox dead, it was west london, so Im sure they charged a nice price for removal, only to let it go, the customer, I doubt will call them again when he gets a fox, which he will do
