  4. my missus woke me this morning (night worker) with the "get ya gun voice" yup another fox caught in the chicken coop, thats five this year, looked quite healthy, although a few grey hairs on his rump, its times like this that make me remember how good the 410 hushpower is as a dispatch tool, quick, easy, and humaine used a magnum extra long 75mm sub sonic cart

    Job Idea's

can just imagine the law suits when "a little critter" takes a chunk out of some kid....
  6. hi all, quick question, when I picked up this pedretti hushpower, it came with a few boxes of eley hushpower carts, which Ive nearly used up, my local dealer had none in stock, but recomended high velocity/express 28grms 7.5 65mm fibre wad, saying they are nearly the same, maybe a little more bang, Im now getting worried how do I check the gun can take different carts/pressure etc, is there something stamped on the shotgun, and if so, what am I looking for? he also recomended some carts for a clay day Ive got arranged velocity competetion target loads 28grms 7.5 70mm fibre wad
  7. Is this the first squirrel, or do you get them up there every year, if so, it may be better to invest in a kania, fixed to a plank of 6"x1" with a wire mesh tunnel, it could be fixed in position to a roof strutt and left there, it'll certainly be easier to set each time, and being "off the floor" safer if anyone else gets up in the loft space
  8. welcome to the mad house, just got my shotgun cert too, be warned, it gets bloody adictive
  9. you need something like a T bar by the sound of it, have you got a probe for ferreting or mole's, if so push that through cage wires and into the ground
  10. have used both sub sonic and normal in my 410, have to say, I prefer the normal ones (eley)
  11. dunno about putting them in "his cage" he may see that as them invading his terrotary if dogs think like that?
  12. I cant load quick enough, belive me I tried, Im using a pedretti hushpower single barrel/single shot, and reason for wanting a mossberg
  13. the 12 mate, the 410 is now seen as just a fox dispatch tool, but Im saving me pennies, Ive seen a mossberg hushpower with spare ribbed barrel s/h for £475
  14. a good reason to fill out your profile, a location is a start
  15. its not going to hurt re setting it
  16. well this morning saw me taking my now regular friday morning trip to the farm I shoot over, after asking for some advice on "pidgeon watch" concerning using a hushpower, I was eager to try out what I was told, anyhow set up 12 shell decoys in a horseshoe shape, with the dove motion decoys at the front, within minutes pidgeons were coming down, and rather that shoot them whilst on the ground, I opted to only shoot airbourne birds, over the next couple of hours I bagged six pidgeons, not brilliant by some of your standards, but for me the best day so far, also leant, the more you shoot, t
  17.     although watched it twice
  18. frontline is good to have as it covers both fleas and ticks, but as suggested, get yourself a couple of tick pullers, good for odd ones or two's
  19. was that supposed to make us jump... sorry, but it did'nt
  20. as already stated, as many collars as you want, sometimes when ferreting large sets, we can have anything from two to eight ferts down at once, they tend to bolt alot more with lots of ferts down, sometimes you'll find with a lesser amount, the rabbits know the warren, the ferts dont, so they can out run them underground, having a large amount of ferts down, dos'ent give the rabbits the option, they just think RUN!!!!!!
