  1. and you ask if a locator is needed would you write a terrier off, if it did'nt come out of a hole, or are they worth more
  2. reduce the resolution setting on the camera and take new pictures, might be under pictures in the menu, normally 3 choices, you want the one that gives you more pictures, not less
  3. cant remember where we got ours from, but do a google search on ex battery hens, we got 8 at 50p each, they look oven ready when we picked them up, but soon grew feathers, we now have 6 left, and are averaging between 4-5 eggs per day
  4. if your going to use them only for the dogs/ferrets then all mine are gutted on catching, then stored in the freezer, I always chop head and feet off before freezing, as they fit in the freezer better, also put newly caught ones at the bottom and moving everything up, take out one or two rabbits daily, for 24hr defrost get a chopping board, I use a 2" slice of a tree, now get a sharp axe, you'll have the belly open from gutting, using one hand to hold the rib cage, use the other hand, holding the skin to pull away, all around the chest and back, then simply do the front, gives you l
  5. folding paper stuff, has a picture of the queen on it
  6. needs prices and location, or it goes
  7. Care to elaborate? expected to see pictures of explicit nature
  8. your right, csmessex has contributed loads to the site, so the advert is welcome here, but I would suggest advertising on a few other pet sites/free local papers/loot etc, as wether people looking at these pages, will want a staff, rather than a lurcher/terrier etc etc
  9. have you read the sign correctly on the photo booth, nowdays you can normally get either 4 photo's, or 1 large,2 medium, or even 16 tiny ones, it normally states on the booth, that none, apart from the x4's are suitable as passport photo's
  10. if your referring to the "first go at the moles" post, picture of traps with hazel sticks in them, they aint left connected like that, I would imagine he has used the stick to set the other side of trap off, save his fingers, or for carrying purposes
  11. it depends wether you ferret purely for sport, or for pest control, someone asked the same question this week on here, my answers the same, will ferret all year round if asked, and even if not, I still go to certain permissions, to keep the numbers down, why stop when they are increasing their numbers it may mean a few extra digs
  12. although mines only in the shed, it came off a tug boat, and has a back boiler, not connected, works out well, as the sides and back only get warm to the touch, due to the double skin, front and top throws out all the heat
  13. onion bhaji are the best real tasting one's, dont think much on the squirrel, duck aint too bad
  14. your not mad mate, it was in the longnetting section, and not really a longnet question, so I answered it, but couldent be bothered to move it, until the above reply
  15. those tree's grow in kent too...
  16. some can be big buggers, as stated, there are a few different ways to dispatch, each has its merits, and you'll find a way that you like and stick with it, put a post up in the ferreting section, with your location, see if you can tag along with someone, who will show you dispatch, as although its been explained in posts, theres nothing like watching first hand, and having someone to guide you, make sure its a humane dispatch
  17. has the law changed?, but when I did my BPCA, we covered good reasons for shooting/pest species , public health and safety were the first main reason, but we talked on how "birds mesing on cars" was not a valid reason to shoot, and could lead to prosecution, would have thought attacking cars would be simular, ie not public health
  18. great pictures of ted pat, love those action shots, makes me want to get a whipper, lol,
  19. I'd say yes, its pest control, may mean a few more digs, and asking owner to keep vegatation cut back in certain areas depends on how you look at it, if you owned the land, and grew no crops, than thats a good way of keeping your sport for next season, but for those on "permissions" surely, its not a good idea, you see it as "sport" but the landowner see's it as pest control, babie rabbits need feeding, so just when the landowner starts growing crops, and rabbits start munching, is not in my eyes a good time to stop, the landowner is not worried about next years sport,
  20. Ive always put these one's at the very bottom of the freezer, ensuring they have a good three weeks there, more my peace of mind than anything
  21. its an idea that the mods have asked for in the past, as will says, it does lead to people posting "hello's" in the new member section, just to get the post count up, the idea of vertification is a good one, but as stated alot more work, even with more rules in place, I bet people will forget the no bumping between 7 days rule
