I'd also say, he allows both full backs to join attacks as he has that protection in midfield, Walker and Trippier are both very attack minded full backs, or Shaw when he's fit...maybe what looks defence minded is quite a balanced way to attack?

Don't you think that's to protect what is quite a weak centre back pairing? If you look at the attacking players he uses, he always plays 4, this time Kane, Rashford, Bellingham and Foden, with 2 holding midfielders.. Rice and Phillips.. who would you lose? Would you leave out Phillips for say a fit Saka, or Maddison and play Bellingham as a no 8 type midfielder? I thought he was fantastic in that no 10 role the other night, maybe shoe Horning all of our best attacking players in one side will destabilise the team?

Heres one...if Southgate doesn't win a trophy will he be seen as a failure? Robson and Venables from recent'ish years are seen as successes to many, they were close, but still only a semi final... Southgate reached the final, a semi, qualified out of the hardest group on paper this time... but... he has hell of a squad of players, this lot really can win something??

Infuriates me mate... the thought of the magic bucket and sponge coming on and your opposite number thinking he'd hurt you made you get up straight away and do the run-hop-run-hop dance, which was famous for any self respecting football "hard man"...lol

Said exactly the same at the local football on Saturday, its a good standard, young pros on loan or ex pros finishing there career... but... its very technical and nice football etc, but none of the grit and getting smashed about like our time, I played this standard and you had to b fit and strong, dont get me wrong you had to have all the basic skills needed to play but if you werebt fit and strong you couldn't play it... now its far more technical, some very very good football, I really enjoyed it, but not that getting off your seat and screaming at the big challenges, getting stuck in mala

Yeah but getting smashed every 10 yards abd getting up to run yards for another roll around... fit as f**k those blokes tbf... I've enjoyed a few of the world cup games, the France V South Africa game on Sunday was what sport is about imo

Brother lives in Exmouth, he's in the middle of a big build project on his house, full wrap scaffold around, temp roof over.. his roof is off and steel in on the weekend...shitting himself now though as he reckons there's lads down there surfing proper rollers, the wind is howling and its only a temp room and plastic keeping him dry! Rough couple of days now!!

Thats some amazing footage there mate.. We see them alot now down here, 2 weeks ago we were out on the boat and one flashed at the surface only 300 yards off the shore, off Branscombe (near Sidmouth, Beer etc)... few years ago we were sharking off Plymouth, I've never seen it like it that day, was like an Attenborough doc, hundreds of tuna and dolphins pushing the mackerel shoals around, breaking surface everywhere...an amazing site, would've loved to have been in the water watching it! I see this as a great asset to our coasts, people will pay good money on a tag and release scheme,

Big blow for you, he's looked really good. Been a few of these over the years, back to the Bruce Groballer case, obviously Ivan Tony at the minute.. always has a gambling culture around football, but you can't be betting on your own team ffs!

I dont know mate, I think our coaching at the top clubs would be up.there personally, look at the talent coming through in England, the u21s winning the euros etc. I do think you can't argue the time he spent in Germany has worked for him, but he is very natural, he just looks a player in everything he does, his decision making is like a 28 year old... there isn't a flaw is there!

Undoubtedly the best player in the world on current form, he has the lot... this is some England squad at the minute, best all round squad I can remember... centre backs would be my only concern

Played against a few of the North Devon football teams mate, never played rugby.. Ilfracombe, Bideford Barnstaple and Appledore all decent sides over the years... we'd play up to Devizes, Warminster and a few Bristol sides when it was the old Western League.. but now its right up to edge of London and Wales..

Always been a very good club mate, was Western League when I played, but Southern Premier now, one of the sides in the league is Merthyr... there's a side from Plymouth in it ..there's some travelling in that league now!

Got Family down from Surrey as they follow Walton and Hersham football club, they were playing Tiverton Town today. Tenner to watch a decent game of football, seen a few old faces and a coach load came down from Surrey to watch their team... Good day..
