Good thread this, interesting to see people's takes on happiness in work/life and what different people see as success... no two people are the same in that regard.. From my side of things... I'm a bit of a workaholic, it could be seen as a fault perhaps, but that is my character, I'm not one for sitting down much and genuinely enjoy being busy, I feel guilty (or thar sort of feeling) when I'm not "at it"... I think I've always been that way... I'm also a gambler and enjoy the risk/reward of business, been self employed since I was 18, so am past worrying about anyone other than me makin

Nice answer that mate

I agree with that, all the young lads are into the gym now, its more for aesthetics than fitness Imo though... flexing in a mirror on a tik tok or Instagram video gets the attention they require... no difference to us in our day I guess, but if you didn't have a bit of yap you had little chance, flexing in the pub got you ripped to shreds and told to stop acting the twat...now its done thing!

Never been into drugs, coke is rife now and lads I never thought would be into it ate at it, each to their own but they lie and try and cover up when you're in their company, I guess they are embarrassed as a mid 40s bloke with a family shoving shit up their nose in a pub bog...classy! Lol Like a drink in good company, never drink just for drinkings sake, but if there is a good craic, bit of music etc then I enjoy a pint or 2...

A very good mate of mine is currently on a round the world boating adventure with his Norwegian girlfriend, when he gets back he's setting up home in Norway. He's sent me the pics of the place, right on the edge of a fjord, to say I'm a little jealous is an understatement! Lol... but there is an open invitation, we've been mates for over 40 years, I think I may take up the offer and spend some time hunting huge halibut and cod...stuff of dreams imo

I've had my kids out from the time they could walk, my lad often comes but certainly doesn't "love it" like I did/do.. my youngest daughter (nearly 16) had a go as I didn't wake her last time out, she never said she wanted to come, I'm.not a mind reader!! Lol I'm 47 in a few weeks, first went ferreting/lamping at 6 years old, I don't think my kids will be at it at my age, but they will certainly defend it.. My cousins bloke who I took out is 37, city lad...he won't be getting ferrets any time soon, but is a little wiser.. What I will say is Geths lad Olly, is as mad for hunting/

I'll get one of my hobs done soon enough mate, welcome to use him come spring time.

My thoughts exactly Sean, I've taken him fishing, picking mushrooms, up the moors with the dogs etc..they come and stay with us 3 or 4 times a year, there getting married here next year, having the reception at our place, they love it down here... its far removed from where they live mate, we're still lucky to have countryside on our doorstep (like yourself) and know how to use/enjoy it.. if one or 2 more people understand the way of life a little its better than thinking bad about us when the reality is far removed!
-
Just seen.this Arry, that's a smart looking bit of kit... Will take a look, cheers mate

Had my cousins down from Surrey, thought I'd show him a bit of ferreting, never tried any type of hunting before, so although not an anti, certainly not pro hunting ...he loved it, realised its not barbaric dogs ripping rabbits apart or any of that shit! Lucky enough Geth and Ollie came and gave us a hand only a short morning session managed 7 rabbits fairly easily no digs, dogs caught the majority and he loved seeing them work...top morning

Early days but surely the Balon Dor will go to English man next year...Kane or Bellingham??
-
Brilliant game! I thought Sterlin was outstanding, winning the ball back all over the pitch and then playing forwards everytime, best I've seen him play in a very long time... Cole Palmer is another real English talent, we must have the best group of young players in the world right now, whether we win anything or not is another story, but what a group ti choose from..
-
Funny, I didn't see that as a sending off at all, only VAR could've shown that as sending off imo... I think he was stepping over the ball to put his body in the way to protect it, purely accidental catching the player Imo..he was turning his body at the same time...put yourself between the ball and player... I'm not however defending him as he was totally shit, like a Sunday morning player, 2nd touch was a tackle every time ffs!! I actually thought it may have improved the team when he went off...wishful thinking!! Lol
-
It would be far too easy to blame VAR, yet again, but I wouldn't bring myself to.it..shocking mate, first 20 in complete control, Rashford sent off and it was like the life went out of the while team... if City were 2-0 up and lost a player they'd go in half time 2-0 up and win the game 3-0, they've got that about them, UTD have no character at the minute... I like the look of Hoijlond mate, only 20 and puts himself about, he's quick and a handful... that's about it though..lol
