    i think ur spot on with alot that uv said fat man, ive seen young lads down my way come into the digging scene lately, some are mouthy little know it alls who want to have good terriers now and will throw away money after money to get one but in reality they wouldnt know a good terrier from a bad un, and because of this they sometimes (thankfully) dont stay in the sport..     I agree that Eye colours are purely cosmetic, but certain cosmetic traits point to 'Ancestry'. I am not talking about how they are put together necessarily or thier Show worthiness, but certain 'Family' traits which come out in the better individuals. One example is in 'Honeybunch' bred Bulldogs, they have a Family trait of having a strip of black Fur run a third of the length of the Tails and a black Mask.     when i was young a man nearby had an accidental litter of a 3/4 bred wheaten hound dog over a bitch very similar to your own-he gave them all swimming lessons bar one-turned out a cracking rabbit dog and caught a hare once (hunted up and given no law obviously).I dont think the dog went to ground although it was well small enough.(13-14 inches tts)
