No greyhound blood in there buddy... He one of your pups then snifferboy. Just a slight question as to the height that's all, as you don't hear of too many beddy/whippets that tall at that age. Lovely pup though I think they are all roughly that size buddy, mine is a touch smaller, more like her mum but my dads is a giant... Looks like it should be pulling a cart!!! Bare in mind that the Sire is 22" and 18kg's so they should level off at around that, thats what I'd hoped for... I get what you're saying . I've owned whippets over 22" in the past, and none were fragile

You'd not find me walking about all night on a freezing night in january either! Lol

Cracking pup in good nick, but at 20" tts at just over six months, are you sure there's not a bit of greyhound blood in there somewhere? Nice pup all the same

Without getting into a debate, have you never seen a good lamp dog also catch hares in the daytime? Genuine question, no malice intended

What is your preferred type of lurcher wk? I'm not saying collie x's don't stalk or pick their runs, but I'v seen practically every type/cross do the same, and like you've said, most of those were down to lack of fitness, and the owners giving them unrealistic slips/runs.Also, I have to say I've personally seen no genuine collie x pick it's runs, most of them being as keen as any other type for run after run I honestly ain't got a preferred type, Iv had few different types over years and made a dog I was happy with out of most. Iv said it before, I'v never fancied the same type again when ne

Backward cnuts!!! Said it before, but some of the most deluded, tree hugging, save the whale etc morons that rescue greyhounds and lurchers, are of the type you've just mentioned, and are horrified that the type of dog they've 'rescued' actually wants to run and kill other animals! Lol. The world's gone FAAACKIN MAD!! Lol

Looks an interesting pairing, how's the bitch bred and what height are they both?

My views are probably very similar to yours trench. Estate I worked on years ago had a collie/gsd bitch that worked as well, though not quite as obediently, as the two lab bitches the keeper kept as well. And a couple of dogs we used to wander the countryside as kids, which were supposedly just collies lol, were always up for a day, or few, far more freedom as youngsters for all of us back then lol, of hunting, wandering and generally messing about and up to allsorts. Looking back, I sometimes think 'bruno, sam, sally etc, put to a greyhound would throw some cracking pups'.

Agree with this. Lots of lads keep whippets and never feel the need to get a bigger dog. They are pretty laid back and the ones I've been around have been pretty obedient. Probably never gonna be a world beater but probably the best of the bunch for someone new to dogs. Thing is gaz, nobody really needs a world beater, and whippets do very well at most things anyway. I love em You're right they don't, I certainly don't, but you wouldn't get a whippet for big lamping shifts on all types of quarry on all types of ground. That's what I was getting at. I like whippets too mate.

Not my cup of tea, and I certainly wouldn't entertain the thought of buying one, but I've seen more than a few litters of saluki/grey x wheaten/grey, and in the last 7 or 8 years. Not alot of difference really. But as with alot of x's, you're either going to like them and get on with them, or they're going to cause you a lot of grief, trouble and misery. Oh yeah, 'boys and girls?!' FAAAACK OOOORFF!! Lol

Will probably make ideal pot fillers, 'in the right hands'. . Lol

He's just on 11 months now, so hopefully not much growing left. He's just on 11 months now, so hopefully not much growing left. No he'll just fill out 40 KG = 88lb, and yep, should just mature from now on and prob lose a little weight whilst filling out
