  1. Looks a cracking little rifle, and I'm not that keen on skeleton stocks lol. Forgive my ignorance here, but is falcon a british make, and were they out before brocock, as that looks very similar to the contour?
  2. Claret?! Don't let your dog drink alcohol, it's no good for dogs
  3. I think everybody is influenced by colour when choosing a pup, everything else being equal. No-one picks a pup they don't like the look of
  4. I like brindles, I find them faster than other coloured dogs, especially when they're sporting a nice shiny collar. So to me it makes a difference ...........................
  5. 92 lb is a big dog. How tall is he, and is he ok on rabbits walshie?
  6. I won't be running the dog on anything or buying one yet for that matter, I was just wondering why you don't see these more often on here... I understand that they are/ were being used to course hare, dispatch deer, running alongside the hunters on a horse... a smaller version used to exist, owned by farmers known simply as " hare catchers"... ATB
  7. What quarry and what type of hunting would you be doing with this type of dog? And though I'll have to start getting my flak jacket on as I'm writing this, ALOT of bull x's that I've seen have been straightlined for speed by practically everything they've been ran at, just straight bull/greys I mean, not deer/grey x bull/grey etc
  8. How's that fawn and white pup of yours kennymc? Looks a real nice prospect. Any recent pics/updates?
  9. !! SITE RULES, NO RACISM, SEXISM or DISABLITYISM!! ......................
  10. So killing them by running them over in a motor is ok?! Beggars belief the sad shit I read on here
  11. Don't matter where it is really. For me, the fact of the matter is that the guy driving up that road is a c**t, simple. He obviously mowed some of them down, you can hear it ............... c**t!!
  12. Same as some of these coursing/saluki bred lines. The amount of faff, rubbish and lies that's been said or told about what's in the line of some of those is absurd
  13. I'd say expensive Cuban cigars, it's the folk who give him the cash that are as high as kites. I'd say expensive Cuban cigars, it's the folk who give him the cash that are as high as kites.. Your right mate the folk paying it must be off their nuts, a wouldn't mind paying decent money for a good healthy pup but not £400 I will be looking for a pup after I am back from my holiday in September and I can assure you I won't be paying near that amount https://www.pets4homes.co.uk/classifieds/1598232-norfolk-tumbler-and-smithfield-lurcher-puppies-wellingborough.html 800
  14. Been reading your posts for a while now, and the shots you pull off are excellent, very impressive. Do you ever use scopes, or are you content enough to just not be bothered with them? Like the dandie dinmont by the way
  15. That's the thing roy, and I don't think the majority of people on here will agree what an all rounder is. As you say, everyone will want or need a different dog to someone else. But I do think ginger beard is right. I've seen loads of lurchers over the years catching plenty of different quarry sometimes in the day, but mostly in the same night
  16. Some good basic questions there. Looking forward to the lad's replies to this myself. Plenty of guys on here that'll be able to answer these questions very eruditely
  17. there's a woman that lives not far from me that walks hers on a lead! I kid you not lol
  18. Just been looking mate. Don't know how to put links etc up, but just read that there'd been three separate sightings in one week in cumbria. And one was seen in Rickerby Park in Carlisle and one in the RSPB reserve at Tindale, and again at Mawbray near Silloth. Article was called Raptor Politics, and there was a calendar on the page from 2011. Hope that's of help to you
  19. a lot of the older guys I know who hunt seem to go softer when they get older. I wouldn't call it patient as some of the dogs are less than average but they seem happy with what they,ve got and who's to argue. I think they must be more aware of their own mortality as they reach twilight years themselves and feel sorry for the dogs and don't expect much. I've seen them stop shooting pheasants as they age too and just want to admire them and then don't want the young lads to shoot them either. They must think if they save 1 or 2 birds it will make up for the hundreds they blasted in their time .
  20. 31" - 32" tts ending up. Be a nice dog to go over your bitch that, if he's doing what you hope workwise
