Your dogs aint shit, southern rabbits are definitely faster, and more intelligent, than their northern counterparts

If you listen to half the muppets on here, you'll be in a world of trouble! Lol

Don't believe everything you read

Do you shoot directly of those primos mate, or rest your hand on and then shoot? -
Above post not a dig at you Attaboy, just alot of lurcher owners in general these days. To me, you've shown a modicum of good sense. Good luck with your pup

Like you say, could be any number of reasons for the age someone starts their dog. And lets face facts here as well, 18 months isn't exactly a late start! I'd far rather that than starting too soon. Look at the amount of dogs that suddenly become 'available' from the age of 10 - 14 months, 'just right for starting.' They've already had the guts run out of them, and are already ruined, injured, started yapping or any amount of reasons as to why they are now suddenly 'unsuitable' or whatever for their 'owners' needs! Patience is a rare thing with the majority of lurcher and terrier owners the

Cracking pics there mate. The young un looks well happy, and proud

Real nice bitch she is mate. Is that the one you got from wales, 3/4 grey/collie to a pure collie?

FastDogz, don't let some of the members on here put you off your pup. It looks a cracker. and you sound like you know your own mind anyway. And most people, whatever they tell you, WILL pick the pup that appeals to them aesthetically first. And if, after you've had a look at your pup and it doesn't really suit, like you've said, you're under no obligation to buy. Good luck with it, I hope it does suit, it looks a cracker

Lol very good post that . Although I will say that I slightly disagree with you about most mutts can catch a rabbit. On some places you are correct, but some places where we go, you won't be catching any rabbits unless you've got a very quick dog. Some half cross collie/greys, and some of what their owners thought were pretty fast lurcher x lurcher types, have been found wanting for pace when we've gone out. And the look on their faces was priceless lol. Anyway, I digress, 'hitting teeth single handed' and 'fighting off lions' has made my day! Lol . Edited just to add, this was a good

No pics from me sorry, don't even have a camera lol. But if you're main interest is in obedience I'd go for a pup with more collie in it than a 1/4. Should be easier to train and be more responsive than a 3/4 bred. Seen quite a few over the years, and my lad has one now, 3/4 grey by merlin, and he's been pretty easy to train and is turning into a very useful dog. And he's not hyper or stubborn, and is pretty laid back. I had a dog in the late 80's that hancock's taffy, border/beardie, was the sire to, and although he caught me plenty of hares and deer, the twat did my head in more than bein

Cracking little dog that. Is she a working type beddy, or something else in her?
-
Funnly enough, I was watching some you tube vids the other night with borzois coursing hares. I've never seen one off the lead in real life, and I was pleasantly surprised with the speed, stamina and agility they showed. Wouldn't say they'd be ideal for rabbits though
-
Exactly that, rambling. Don't take things so seriously
-
If it wasn't a problem, why post? And never mind eating a whippet, your pup wouldn't be able to catch it first lol
-
Well swipe me sideways! 3rd time in a row I'm agreeing with you lol. Don't know how to paste and copy stuff, or whatever it's called, so I'll just repeat the line you've just written, and what I've been saying for years. 'Best small hound version on the planet'
-
Correct sir. Not everything was introduced to britain by the romans
-
Wait til morton sees this, he won't be happy! 90% of pups in a litter born to a pure greyhound parent WILL be shit
-
Nice to have pics like that to look back on
-
Kin el, twice now I'm agreeing with you! Lol. Been saying the same thing for years, whippets add alot to a lurcher
